He has been quiet, hope all's well.x
You don't get rid of me that easily, 237SJ ;-)

I've been in hospital and, even though I came out nearly a week ago, I'm only just feeling fit enough to post here.

Thanks for your concern, anyway!

Oh, I thought you might have been on a long holiday. Nothing too serious I hope and I hope you are on the mend.
So good to see you, continue getting better.x
Sorry to hear that Chris, hope you are better, are the cats ok .
welcome back, hope that you're on the mend and that everything is under control - more than AB in your ABsence, to be sure....
I had envisaged you lying at the bottom of a Cat pile/mountain.

Hope you are feeling better Chris - you were missed.
Serious enough at the time, 237SJ, but much less so now thankfully.

Like many, many men, I'd been meaning to see my doctor for quite some time about the symptoms of an enlarged prostate but I never quite got around to doing it.

Then, one evening, I found that I constantly wanted to go to the loo but nothing would come out, so I stayed awake all night assuming that the problem would eventually clear itself. As I then did all day and all night after that. Eventually, after 11 full days with no food, no sleep and no peeing, I was in agony, unable to walk, with my lungs filling up with fluid and with my left leg massively swollen. At that point I gave in and called an ambulance.

I had a 5 night stay in hospital while they got some of my kidney function back. (The consultant said that my kidney response figures upon admission were the lowest that could be without me actually having totally zero function). They also helped to improve my lung function and to reduce the swelling in my leg. Since I came home I've been struggling quite a bit but today was my first almost 'normal' day, when I could go shopping without tiring myself out.
Thanks for all the nice comments above, folks.

Gosh, that's awful. I`m presuming the englarged prosate was not caused by anything sinister?
You really were almost dying for a pee.

Eleven days !!!!!!!!!
Sorry you've been unwell but good to see you back & I hope your recuperation continues comfortably - look after yourself :-)
chris, I wonder if you are aware of how ill you were "
The docs didn't seem too concerned about the actual cause of the prostate enlargement, 237SJ. I 'carrying my own plumbing' from now until the summer, when I'll have an operation to remove part of the prostate gland, after which I can have the catheter removed.

Having a good pee is one of lifes simpler pleasures.
