Wow who knew!
RIP, Marni Nixon.
RIP Marni - your voice will live on.
What a talent she was. I knew she sung for Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady, but didn't know she did so much else, uncredited and poorly paid.
she looked quite a lot like Julie Andrews, didn't she?
^^sang not sung

I always believed that somebody dubbed for Julie Andrews in " Mary Poppins" and I thought it might have been Marni, but not according to her Wiki entry.
Elaine Paige (EP on Sunday Radio 2) often features Marni's contribution to the musicals when she sang the songs that the 'stars' mimed. Expect there'll be some sort of tribute on Elaine's show soon.
RIP Marni Nixon, thank you for the singing.
nobody needed to dub Julie Andrews - she was a Broadway star even before Mary Poppins, with The Boy Friend, My Fair Lady and Camelot. (The best she'd ever got in Britain was in Aladdin - not the title role, either.) Wonderful voice.

Apparently Marni Nixon sang in Mary Poppins too, as one of the sheep.
