Sunday. Just seen on the idiot box that winter is about to begin properly. Can't complain can we. It's calm now after an 'ooligan last night.

Have a happy day everyone.

Hey Boaty, at least the 'ooligan has moved camp, hope it hasn't re-settled somewhere else in the Uk. Blown out to sea would be a better outcome.

Have a rack of lamb awaiting my gastronomic touch, any suggestions?

Afternoon oz. I hope so mate.

Got any garlic puree? If not, rub it over with garlic cloves, or slice them and lay on. Rosemary and black pepper. I usually do some fresh onion gravy with it. Cauliflower and broccoli florets, roast and boiled potatoes.
Question Author
Put the rack in an oven dish it about an inch of water. Cover with foil and let it get on with for about an hour on a medium heat. Then take off the foil and roast as normal.
Sounds good.

Thought I may smother in crushed garlic, bit of olive oil and 'erbs. Roast on high for ten minutes or so. Wrap in foil and let sit while spuds are roasting, cauli and beans steamed, cover in cheesy sauce, cook some sweet corn on the cob. Whack the lamb back in the oven for ten then let sit a bit, carve and serve.

Sounds good too. Probably easier! :o}
It's a pretty small rack, must have been a rather young lamb, won't take much cooking.

Thanks for the suggestion, garlic will happen, wards of the winter colds ;-)

The pan of water underneath will happen, helps keep the meat moist.
Nothing worse than meat that is chewed and chewed until there is a dry ball of fibre waiting to be swallowed.
