I think too many grown ups spend too much time on Laptops etc :o)

Morning TWR x
They probably communicate more. All day at school and chatting to friends on xbox when they are in.

About
How old is she TWR?
My son is autistic and never used to talk very much. Now when he is on xbox, he chats non-stop to his friends and also now, when he isn't on it. I think it's more writing skills that will be lost. Everything is typed now.
Walked past our old park, in the summer holidays, and it was completely empty. Bit sad, really, thinking back to the mayhem that went on when we were young.
Pots & kettles?
Same with my Grandson Pixie. Since he's had a computer he's really improved on every level. My Son spent most of his free time messing about on PC's he's 35 nearly and a bit of a Whiz in the IT field....And, you can't shut him up!!
Wasn't there a time when parents told their kids to get away from in front of the telly or computer, and go out and do something?

And now, even when they do go out and do something, they are still in front of their (hand held) computer.
Yes, my oldest son is too. Not quite what I was used to. We had one computer for the whole school at junior school and only individual ones at senior school. Now they have one each at preschool- but it's how they'll run things one day. Things change.
Kids in groups do look as if they are not really interacting with each other.

They all sit there, tapping away on their iPhones. They seem to be saying ...

"Physically, I may be here with you. But in my head, I somewhere else with my other friends"

So why bother getting together in the first place?

My Eldest is 11 (just) She built her own PC with the help of her Uncle... She loves it but still has lots of time for after school stuff and her friends. I spend too much time on my PC/Tablet etc... :o(
Things change TWR, This is the way the young communicate, so they do still do it, only in a different way

Not really Venator, Observation mabey.
In short....yes !

I have a 14 year old nephew who sees less daylight than your average vampire ! He plays with his computer games at the total exclusion of everything else. He comes home from school and goes straight up to his bedroom and logs on. He does it all weekend as well, and never goes outside to "play" This has been going on since he was 9 years old, and probably earlier.

They lost their broadband access for a week or so in November, which brought some relief but it didn't last. This situation is not helped by my brother, his father, not seeming to care or even be aware of all this. When I have suggested in the past that the boy should be outside, climbing trees, making dens and doing all the sorts of things that we and our other brothers did when we were boys, he just says that his son IS playing with other kids, albeit "on line"

I am worried about all this, as the boy is very withdrawn and as pale as a ghost. But as an Uncle, I have to bite my tongue a lot, which doesn't come naturally !
Went out to dinner with my son and grandson a few weeks ago and first thing when they sat down phones out and tapping away .I said now what do I do now do I talk to myself lol. They soon took the hint .And we had a pleasant chatting evening .
My boys spend lots of time on their xboxes but I don't mind. What else are they meant to do - hang round the streets smoking & causing bother?
Thank Gawd for all of the above, otherwise we might be in danger of having to talk to them or worse, entertain them ourselves!

;-)
