O frabjous day, etc....

The workmen moved in this morning, had to lift some dodgy floorboards, and there amongst all the grot, they found my wedding ring!

I am thrilled - otherwise it would have been sealed up forever, once they've finished.

Hurrah for the men!

Nice one. How long has it been missing?
Very lucky find Boxy, no wonder you're thrilled.
Aw, that's a good bit of news, I need to hunt down Mr R's wedding ring that's somewhere in the house, though hopefully not under the floorboards.

How long's it been missing?
Oh frabjous day! Calloo! Callay!
It's lucky for you that they were honest
That is fantastic, you must be really delighted xxxxx

Well -- I think it's a good couple of years, it bounced off the kitchen worktop one day.... I don't wear any jewellery indoors, it fell when I was putting it on one morning. Just my luck that instead of falling into the junk stored under the stairs in the kitchen, it found one of the little holes in old houses and just fell through into the void.

Sandy, when they arrived, I did tell them that there would be a small financial reward for The Man Who Found It.... although when it came to it, I offered but he wouldn't take it.

Hurrah!

How wonderful :)
I gave my deceased brother's filing cabinet to his neighbour, as we were lifting it up the stairs a gold ingot worth about £2000 fell out of it's hiding place...
Good news! Get them all a beer.
Great news!!!! :-))

Your luck's in boxy, buy a Lottery ticket, quick!

:-)

wow. jomifl.....
I lost my lovely wedding ring...in the house...the night my twin granddaughters, Amy and Beth were born. I searched for weeks.

Amy died not long after so I told myself she took it with her.... a daft fairy tale I know but made me feel a wee bit better.

The replacement ring never felt quite as special.
How lovely for you Boxtops!

For some bizarre reason I buried my crucifix in the garden when I was tiny. I remember exactly where I buried it but never found it again. I lost a pair of good sized diamond earrings in the house, we have solid floors so I know they didn't fall between any cracks I'd love to know what became of them though.

That is a beautiful thought Gness.
Best thing we ever found under the floorboards was the cat, he'd been missing for a few days, we thought we could hear a faint miaowing and we suddenly remembered that we'd lifted a trapdoor under the stairs when we'd moved in. Don't know who was happier when we lifted it again, him or the OH!

lucky find boxy, you must be very happy with the result. I have lost a small puzzle ring that was on my little finger it was bought before we left Dubai over 20 years ago, I live in hopes I will find it somewhere in the house.
Good for them! I once found a new client's engagement ring in their hoover...
...it had been lost for a year.
