Okay, so I'm sitting at my desk.

It is by the window.

The window is even open a bit.

I can see the weather.

And every time Olive has come in here today she has given me an update on ... the weather.

As though I was talking to her on the phone from abroad.

Is it time, perhaps, that she was put out to grass?

Not at all JJ ,I am 77years young.
D4mn, I thought I might have qualified!
it is wet with drizzle and the mist rolling in from the sea. it has been grey and cloudy all day but, mind you, not as bad as yesterday. ooooh that was awful. so much mist and that fine rain. soaks you it do - in minutes. might just as well be raining properly the way it is. . . . . . . . . .
Dennis looks mighty fine for 77.

I hope to be old one day.
The weather outside Olive's window might not be quite the same as it is outside your window, jj, especially if she has her other glasses on.
never alba. i just will not let you.
aww, LJ, thank you.
I'm just practising at maturing :-D

(It's not working terribly well, mind you)
This new fangled addition at the end of the list of replies is confusing me, an oldish person.
Change for change's sake isn't always a good thing.
I'm fed up with being the oldest inhabitant. It's time someone else passed me and took the crown. On the other hand, I don't want to disappear altogether. And by the way, it is very cold here at the moment.
At our age, star, we feel the cold more :-)

If Olive was still here, and came in now, she'd tell me it had gone dark outside. She might also mention the time. "It's only just gone five, and it's dark outside".

She's so sweet.
sibton - surely you are only a young bit of stuff, not old at all.
