Just watched this - what a brilliant programme, makes you realise how much talent is around. A good hour and a half's viewing. Anyone else see it?

Lucky you Dee! That would have been great ....
On this show I especially liked Andre Rieu and Andrea Bocelli. Just wish the up and coming classical singer Noah had won an award, at least he was nominated so perhaps next year?
why do they have to shove it on so late. I can't always record programmes and this could be on a earlier time.

Has anyone noticed this annual award show used to be called the classicAL Brit awards, with all proper classical music. I presume it has changed the name to include musicals and music from artists who sing both classical and easy listening type of music, which I think is much better than just high brow classical (OH disagrees!)
I would just stick to classical music, they do not really need the lighter stuff. don't mind on the radio, but quite honestly would much rather they had just Classic, not sure why it's considered highbrow?
Classical,

My thoughts entirely em - my poor elderly mum stayed up as long as she could but had to miss half as she was so tired, and has no way of recording it or to watch it on catch up. I looked all through the TV mag but can't find anywhere where it is repeated - how silly!
i listen to the station most of the time, and love Classical music, Opera especially. there is no need for them to put it on so late, it's as though only the Proms count, which is rather unfair.

I love all the popular classical music Em, its just the operas which are not well known I'm not keen on - they do go on a bit IMO. I love musicals too though. I was sorry Alfie Boe wasn't on the show, he is great! :)
I like Alfie Boe, but there are fabulous people out there, though the great opera singers diaries are booked up years in advance, so who knows whether they can get them on the show. But at least Joseph Calleja is up there, a young man with an astonishingly old type voice.

Yes Hubby listens to Classic Fm all the time, he prefers it to musicals. I loved the songs from the Phantom of the Opera on the Show last night, what an amazing couple - Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess.
Also loved the guitarist Milos Karadaglić who performed and won an award.
Question Author
Joseph Calleja - yes I love his voice.
