typical scottish ski slope....

snow...ice...rock...grass...tree stump...gravel...rock...ice... (or any combination thereof)

ah, at least hire skis take all of that in their stride.

I find hire skis are really good.

I haven't bought my own skis since we all switched from alpines to carvers.

The change is not to do with speed ... it's to do with control. Does that fit in with the analogy?

more like installing an antivirus programme, then.

I can't ski - my ankles turn at the sight of a pebble, and my knees haven't worked since they got hit by a car years ago. And I hate cold anyway. So I just take winter sun holidays instead.

And it's something at which I can whupp my bf's butt, ha ha.

And you can do it in a weekend! God, I love modern travel ... !!
