Afternoon all :-)

It's my Dads birthday next week, and I have no idea what to get him.

I know it's difficult making suggestions for someone you don't know, but has anyone got any ideas. I don't want to spend a fortune, so nothing extravagant.

I usually get him a ticket to see the rugby, but Wales are playing in New Zealand this year, so thought that to be a tad overboard! :P

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Nice lunch out, pub?
Question Author
Nah, he wouldn't like that. He's quite unsociable and doesn't like eating out.

The only things he likes are rugby and Bob Dylan. He's so fussy!
Depends what he likes and how old he is - how about a voucher to visit a stately home or take him out for the day yourself - see "Whats On" in your local area. Give him a years subscription to a magazine for a subject he is interested in. Give him a framed pic of his family ..... or get a photo book made of all the old family pics he can treasure.
Erm...get him something rugby or Bob Dylon related...

Or socks...
Rugby magazine subscription?

Hmm, the magazine subscription is a good idea. I don't think he reads any, but I'm sure I could find something rugby related.

nudgescuffler, that would be the obvious choice, yes... though he's got all his cd's, dvds, etc... and the rugbys in NZ.

He's the one person I always struggle with.
