Just on the back of this ;

http://www.theanswerb...k/Question996632.html

That way when someone has good news they want to share there would be a topic which could be used.I think it would be an excellent idea and that way when some arent facing such brilliant news they could avoid that topic and it wouldnt be in their face so to speak.

Im sure ive seen this type of topic elsewhere.Might be worth a consideration?

I sincerely hope I wasn't doing anything in anyones face Dris?
and for a moment I thought the good wishes were genuine
I honestly think it fits well in CB, which is for all sorts Dris. Personally, if I am going through hard times I have no problem is seeing others are having good news and sharing it with them. That is the nature of what life is all about surely?
My good wishes were genuine Bobbi.......just ignore the rat bags.
I know MMc thank you

Seriously bobbi -hand on heart I have been on forums and they have a dedicated topic for that and it does have a feel good factor about it.Ed will confirm this and maybe think about it as he's looking for ideas.
Of course my good wishes were genuine it just prompted me to think of some of the threads just lately when bad turned into good and how we have followed them and they were heartening and they might give hope to others rather than it being landed in and forgotten about in CB.
Also a place to avoid if you maybe werent up to it -think thats the general thinking behind it...

Really McM??

Anything to say on the back of my genuine reply and explanation to bobbi?
It takes effort & thought to press keys on keyboard....dont answer if it doesn't suit.

There are some really sad topics that I have empathy for but dont respond as am bereft of suitable words of comfort, at that moment.
sad to say Dris I can never follow your train of thought..
but I take on board what you say on this
Question Author
Im not asking you to follow my train of thought bobbi-its a suggestion and believe me this is possibly the only forum ive seen which doesnt have a 'dedicated' style of topic.

Thats right Tambo thats why I thought it would be a feel good Topic.

I'll see what the Ed has to say and other ABers.

I thought it was really good idea i have to scramble for Aya's thread and I just use that as an example (sorry Aya if you read this) but others will see I try to catch up as often as possible.
It is a good idea Dris, but not the reason that people can avoid it if they are not facing such brilliant news. Actually people's good news can lift you if you are feeling sad, e.g. you are dealing with the death or serious illness but someone posts of a birth or someone recovering. If you see what I mean.
I think it would be a good idea if there wasn't already a chatterbank but for now I don't really see why things such as good news posts couldn't remain in there.

This is primarily a Q&A site so it would seem to me a little bit defeating the object of creating more subjects that would turn it into a different sort of site. I think chatterbank is good for all the other posts that aren't really inkeeping with the purpose of the site.

Exactly lottie -thats what i was getting at it would be a Topic you could either visit if you wanted uplifted or avoid if you thought you werent up for it.A choice really thats all.
I know that some things I have read -not just here-have really boosted me and thats what I was driving at.I have to say like a lot I do avoid some articles,TV programmes as it may be close to home etc and im sure we all do that-its human nature isnt it?
I agree with Milly really Dris.

Perhaps it would be more appropriate to have a 'bad News' thread that we could all avoid!!! ;o)
Question Author
Thanks Milly

Could be a sub topic in B & S, Family Society and Culture......any ideas?

CB is a bit of a flippant place at times and threads can become lost whereas they would remain active for longer in a designated place.
tell you what, why not forget I ever posted my happy post , it's the way I felt, beginning to feel I hadn't now
You can post whatever you like bobbi :-)
I was just thinking to myself, perhaps there could be a sub-topic in chatter bank but as with all the other topics, many users will just avoid the more specific sub-topics (I'm guilty of that) and will stick to the main topic so it would remain scaresly (sp) used.
Why Bobbi? Noone is complaining about your thread.
Bobbi, I don't think anyone is suggesting you shouldn't have posted that. I certainly don't think that. It's nice to see someone else get some really good news.
don't want any controversy that's all LL
I am still happy as Larry tho'
who's Larry btw..ha-ha
