I know this is a cold topic. Maybe should have put in People and Places but this seems to be most active.

Around 2:30 this morning there was an arson attack on a house literally around the corner from where I live and two people died. It's on the BBC news. I know murders happen a lot but when it's right next to you, it's just a really WEIRD feeling.

Anyway, what I have been thinking about people who commit murder is --

What is going through their mind before they're set on going through with it?

Why do they go through with ending someone elses life, the rest of us don't.. What's gone wrong here?

What must they be feeling like after they've done it? I really can't imagine how the murderer can feel good or glad about what they've done.

I think only a murderer can asnswer those questions. Me personally, I don't think they actually feel or think anything. I am not capable of murder and I know that because I would feel or think about it.
Murder and violence generally is all about de-personalisation. It's not seeing the victim as a person for whatever reason and thus not triggering all of the usual emotional things inside us that prevent us from harming and killing. We are all capable of sociopathic behaviour to some degree and it can be "taught". We make up all sorts of reasons in our heads or others tell us, that this group of people/ individual does not count for X reason. It may be religious, class, moral or any other reason, but all that it requires is that you suspend any empathy with the person concerned and place them apart from the way you judge the rest of humanity.
It's a very frightening subject that people can so easily be led by themselevs and others to commit atrocious crimes, but that is the basic mechanics of it.

Well I'm thinking like, psychologists and experts in this sort of stuff would have an idea. You've probably seen those programmes late at night which talk about in depth about this stuff
what really annoys me is that only the good people die or get the horrible dieseses you keep hearing about the murderers who kill inocent people and are living it up in prisonwhile people who are involved in charities die eg stephen hawking the greastist mind never done a thing wrong gets motor nerune diesese and cant do anything there arte so many examples of this and it just annoys methat people can kill and nothing happens to them!
