How can it be then that one egg is left in the basket???

...but technically, that person didn't take an egg. They took a basket that just happened to contain an egg, Did it have a wicker lid? Did they know there was an egg in the basket when they took it?

One of the six people was a siamese twin so they took one to share but are technically two people and was counted as two to make up the 6 persons.
