Why was the ENTIRE thread pulled ?

AFAIK there were only one or two posts that may have contradicted the rules.
I don't understand why any of the VERY FEW posts that could have neen seen as offensive were not simply removed, leaving the rest of this well meaning and topical thread active.

Mystified.

Perhaps the 'protagonists' could have listened to ttfn's requests for a little decorum ?

She may have requested that the thread went given the direction it took ?
Was maybe heading for a dispute which wouldnt have been appropriate on that particular thread. In fact there were several inappropriate comments from posters who couldnt just for once keep their thoughts to themselves.:(
I requested the removal of my thread

What a waste, there were some good and well thought out sentiments expressed I thought, why destroy an entire thread for the sake of one or two posts deemed bad ?
It's ironic that my last post (made as an attempt to steer it back on topic) was going to be this:

We, Veteran's for Peace, view peace as a positively active and creative process which requires courage, commitment, endurance, vigilance, and integrity. Peace is a struggle toward unity, and it is characterized by an absence of violence in all its forms, including discrimination based on gender, age, race, religion, social and economic status, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Those who labor for peace are called peacemakers because they tirelessly pursue nonviolent solutions, work for economic and social justice, celebrate diversity, and strive to build relationships between adversaries through education, conflict mediation, and humanitarian relief. We recognize that peace is both a means and end simultaneously, and that it is never finally or fully achieved. This is because change and growth require some degree of tension or conflict. Historically, such conflict has provided the impetus for military solutions. Thus we, Veteran's for Peace, strongly believe that the greatest obstacle to peace is militarism with its reliance on violence and war. We further believe that peacekeeping action should only be accomplished by a legitimate international body.

I hit post and ...zap, the whole thing had gone.
that is the wonderful world of on-line censorship practised here....where is China by the way?
I can't help wondering if I wasn't partly responsible, but if somebody starts on me, I WILL retailate with a vengeance ... my sincere apologies ttfn.
Watch out world; Naz is priming his dirty bomb
"where is China by the way? "

In Asia I do believe.
Question Author
I also apologise if I said anything inappropriate.
Thank you Naz - but not required by me.
"Watch out world; Naz is priming his dirty bomb "

Can we assume that you've very cleverly took my username apart to label me as either a moustache-wearing genoicidal Austrian or a rucksack-weilding 'extremist'?

Very good, I must say ...but you're oooh ... maybe 5 years too late, we've been there & done that ... so no cigar, sorry.
Roy - same goes to you mate. No-one owes me any apology. We all have the right to post as we wish. What happens thereafter ...

I suggest tpka DTcrosswordfan is a troll.
I dont know about Naz but I dont keep my cigars in an old rucksack!!!

Lol
A troll?

Hmm, no ...just a '***.
Try an FAO in future Naz -like telling your granny how to suck eggs ;) (I would have taken it up on a seperate thread as well if its any consolation).

I think it would have been pulled anyhow ttfn as it wasnt heading in the proper way.However- I as i said before -will take time out to reflect tomorrow. Its the very least that we can do- forgetting the politics -and remembering the fallen and those still in active duty.
"Try an FAO in future Naz"

??
If you wanted to query someones posts aimed at you rather than continue it on a solemn thread.Just a wee suggestion thats all -no need to be suspicious of everyone.
and if I am a troll as Answerprancer implies, at least I have some more intelligence than he/she does as a half-arsed gnome, one of the enemies of the trolls if he/she has any knowledge, which I doubt, of Norse sagas.
I see Dris, point taken, ty.
