/// Ben told yesterday how he was so shocked when Nmachi was born, he even joked: "Is she MINE?"/// (joked? yer I bet he did)

/// He added: "Actually, the first thing I did was look at her and say, 'What the flip?'"/// (or words to that effect).

I bet the Mother was just as shocked.
I can imagine you would think it was unbelievable if you were the sort of person who thought that the idea of someone's colour was a major biological issue and not a matter of a few genes.

It might upset the entire world view of such a person
Other (more positive) quotes from the article.

Ben declared: "Of course she's mine."
Also "All that matters is that she's healthy and that we love her. She's a proud British Nigerian."
Angela said.
"She's beautiful and I love her. Her colour doesn't matter. She's a miracle baby.

This just shows you how ridiculous and childish racism really is.
))))Professor Bryan Sykes, head of Human Genetics at Oxford University and Britain's leading expert, yesterday called the birth "extraordinary".... adding in Nigeria there is little mixing. Prof Sykes said BOTH parents would have needed "Some Form of WHITE Ancestry" for a pale version of their genes to be passed on((((

Dont want to be a party pooper but in view of what the Expert Prof said......... ?????? Some questions possibly remain unanswered ???
Sykes is an expert on genetics, not an expert on what people in Nigeria are doing.
But even if both parents didn't have white genes, could the child still be albino?

If two people who each had a white parent with blonde hair and a black parent, could the child easily be; compeltely white with blonde hair, darkish, like the parents would be, or completely black?
So Jake if your Mrs has the same colour skin as you and she popped a sprog with a different colour are you really telling me you wouldn't have any doubts ?

It has nothing to do with skin colour, people have doubts if the child has blue eyes and both parent have Brown.
Albinos have white hair and pink eyes. This child has blonde hair and coloured eyes.
A DNA test will prove the parentage. A blood test would also proove albinism .
If the story is true it seems impossible.
It is true, and it is not impossible. You can see the child has Nigerian features.
If the mother had been cheating, she would not have allowed this story to go to press.
How can someone be a 'British Nigerian'?
just a thought is it possible to be half albino?
sort of like mixed race where 2 types mix to form a 3rd, - have black and albino genes have mixed to form a 3rd - could this explain partial albinistic looks?

if you get me...
Does that baby scare the crap out of anyone else? No one else thought of that creepy horror film with the weird kids in it?

Hope its not just me!
How would you explain the twins in the article (near bottom of page) then AOG?
http://www.dailymail....blonde-baby-girl.html
The baby is gorgeous B00!
What lovely curly blonde hair she has :)
lol, sorry Daffy, i do feel mean even typing it, but she scares me.
Well I think she's gorgeous, just like a baby doll! :)
joeluke - the same way as someone can be Irish American I suppose - even if it was just one of their grandparents/great grandparents who came from Ireland!
So, for example, if a German couple have a child born here it would be classed as English German?
"Does that baby scare the crap out of anyone else? No one else thought of that creepy horror film with the weird kids in it? "

Village of the Damned?
Plus, I have to confess, I really don't find this story particularly interesting...
