Cameron is in the US representing the BRITISH Government. The English are not getting the blame.
Bad as the BP oil spill is it can be nowhere as bad as the Bhopal disaster can it?

Thousands died and the land is still contaminated

So perhaps BP should pay the same compensation ?
True Gromit, but the British Government did not make the decision yet they are being held culpable.
And just how many Septics do you think have enough intelligence to differentiate between a Scotsman and an Englishman? So yes, I would say the English are being blamed for the sweaties bad call.

Wouldnt it have been good if Cameron had publicly confronted Obama over Bhopal in the same way as we are having our face rubbed in it by the US of A - with Cameron publicly adding "and oh by the way you're definitely not getting Gary McKinnon" ! fantasy politics i know
I have no doubt the British Government could have stopped the release if they wanted to.

There was some reason why they didn't. Probably oil.
Maybe BP should cut out the middle man and pay its compensation direct to Bhopal, leaving the US to sort itself out over the next 25 years or so ...
Maybe?
UK survival rates for cancer are poor, around 8th in all the European countries and his prognosis was based upon those standards of cancer treatment.

Now, he goes to Libya and exceeds all expectations.

Perhaps we should study Libyan techniques of cancer treatment to improve our own poor survival rates?
According to the news today only one doctor was prepared to give a survival time prediction - the one paid by the Libyan government - and he said 3 months.
Aberdeen is a world Centre for oil exploration, and that keeps a lot of Scots employed. After the alleged bomber was released, many companies in Scotland started negotiating with the Libyans, to modify and up oil production.
If only Zimbabwe had oil we would have deposed Mugabe ages ago.
Yes Hopkirk - Instead they've just got

coal, gold, copper, nickel, tin, and clay, ... a world leader in the production of lithium minerals, chrysotile asbestos, and ferrochromium, with more than half of the world's known chromium reserves

Erm this sounds awfully like the recent conspiracy theories about Afghanistan don't you think?

The truth of the matter is that we are not at war with Zimbawe because

a) Other African nations do not want European/American troops sorting out an African mess

b) The European and American public will not put up with another foreign war

c) Zimbabwe is not sufficiently strategic
d) It is harder to fit up Zimbabwe for crimes they did not commit.
Why our Prime Minister has to travel to the US to get a carpeting from that upstart Obama.

If he has anything to say, let him leave the safety of the White House and come over here.
It's all academic anyway, seeing as anyone whose brain is working properly can see that Megrahi didn't do it. There was no evidence against him, and the 'witnesses' had no credibility, and it was clearly carried out by Iranians in vengeance for the Vincennes attack. Even families of the victims don't think Megrahi did it.
