20000+ drunk ticketless scousers force their way into a football match and cause death, I'd say he's absolutely correct. Why are the Hillsborough sympathisers so unable to accept the basic truth? Yes Plod made errors but it wouldn't have been an issue if not for all those ticketless hooligans.

Fans did not 'force' their way in, those with tickets and also ticketless ones entered when the gate was opened to alleviate the crush

Some reports say that some fans climbed the wall to get in but the likelihood is that they only did so to avoid being crushed outside

No Jermey didn't say that, I did based on the incident at the time as I've already said above. Jeremy said something minor and hysterics break out as always do when anyone mentions Hillsnourough, that was the point of this whole thread sorry if you missed that .

Not all of the fans out side were ticketless, there was enough room to accomodate those supporters. The situation that the police faced was the same as many stadia at the time. And at the vast majority of those stadia no one was crushed.

The police made an arbitary decision without informing the staff at Sheffield Wednesday.

Of course the fans made a contribution, but so did the match so we can blame the F.A?

The inescapable fact is, as reached by Lord Justice Taylor, is that if the police hadn't opened that gate those 96 people would still be alive today.

To lay any part of the blame directly on the fans is both heinous and dispicable and I wonder would you have been so quick on the attack if it wasn't a tory that said it.

I've made no "hurtful" or "spiteful" comments I think there are plenty above who have. All I've done is try to get to why anything other than toeing the Hillsborough line is treated with hysteria.

3 hours after the tragic events they didn't even have an accurate figure of how many were dead so how would they be able to give an accurate figure of how many fans were outside the ground?

Yes those 96 would have still been alive if the gate had not been opened but who knows how many fans may have been crushed to death against the turnstile wall outside the ground if the gate hadn't been opened?

Here's the Hillsborough line ie the one you have to toe if you don't want to verbal like the above, (not the official line):
100% police to blame
All scousers at the game where fluffy bunny good natured scallies
Everyone had tickets it was the nasty management an police that cuased the problem

It probably did actually save the lives of the 'lucky' ones who were saved from being crushed to death outside, but inadvertantly it contributed to the deaths of the unlucky ones who died inside

Not sure what your beef is with scousers/Liverpool fans but you sure don't show any compassion towards the 96 dead
