Once again we're being told that we must not touch people burgling our homes. What are we allowed to do? I think that to be within the law, we should ask them to help themselves while we put the kettle on! What woild you do ?

As if we're all going to sit back john eh? I was distracted by Ronan by the way! ;0)
I wouldn't need to touch them - depending on where I was, I would have dogs to do that for me....
get guard dogs.
Single women can get away with much more than a bloke.
My OH chased our burglar with a golf club.

He only stole my purse. The burglar not my OH btw
Or just get your misses to attack the burglar..

And then get the dogs put down?
Yeah!
it was the pmt!!! While we get a few punches in! ;0)
if you home is invaded by uninvited people and they're attacked by dogs the dogs wouldn't necessarily be put down, unless the dogs killed the person.
We had this debate a week or so ago on the News Section, concerning the guy that received a 2 year jail sentence for running after the vagrant.

I think that the majority thought the "chaser" used disproportionate force in reeking vengeance on the burglar................my opinion? Burgle my house, tie my wife up and I would beat the sh1t out of you. Any thoughts of court decisions at that time would be purely secondary.
Well said, Sqaddie. Btw... weather's cr@p, aint it... :-(
that should be wreaking Sqad, not reeking ;-) lol
Ahhh sqad how v. Fred Flintstone of you.......burgle me - I'll lock up dogs! Will even share xmas turkey since my lot are all off elsewhere.
NoM...not cr@p but "unsettled"

daffy...thanks

tambo....forget the turkey, a cuddle in front of the fire will do nicely...................well to start with anyway ;-)
I always liked the story of the Quaker in America who hearing a noise got his gun and went downstairs. On seeing the burglar he said " Friend, I wouldn't harm you for all the world but you're standing where I'm about to shoot "
