Hi

I could hardly watch the news tonight about the poor wee boy that died in soo much pain

Now I've just read the Scottish news and kids threw a lit firwork into a pram of a sleeping baby when the mother had turned her back to deal with her other child, luckily in this case the mother was quick to act and got all the babies clothes off and the baby was fine

All thats in the news these days is stabbings, attacks, murders.

They should bring back hanging, these folk are getting away with murder. Theres just no punishment these days.

Its like well you've killed someone, off you go to jail get a nice room, computers, gym etc whilst the rest of us work hard and save for months just to get some of the things they get.

Look at the jails you get in places like Thailand, Mexico, etc. Just fling them in and let them fend for themselve and so what if our jails are over crowded, dont waste taxpayers money keeping them in luxuries

I forgot to add that as long as we keep letting in immigrants from Somalia, Iran, Iraq and other internal war Countries, it will only get worse.

Just recently we let a male Somalia back in the UK after serving 6 years in the USA for rape, WHY, because he was married to a Polish women.

What other Country in the World would allow this?
Whatever the colour of a person's skin, if they do something wrong, such as commit a rape or murder, they should be punished for it. The country's run by spineless do-gooders.

kazakhstan?
Ice,

Both my parents worked and I had to come home from school to an empty house.

I didn't go around robbing people, i used to play footie in the street with my friends till they came home.
Sounds as if you're doing your best for your kids, goodbyegirl! xx.

Yes, trt, as with many in the same situation, but I bet your parents made time to teach you right from wrong? Many don't, these days, or set bad examples.

Ice,

I didn't have a choice.

If I did wrong it was a good hiding from my Father, which I hated at the time, but now appreciate.
You're maybe right about that, gbg - but I know that my kids are happy, confident and well behaved. They understand right from wrong, because that's the way they're being brought up, and if they ever went out and stabbed someone for the hell of it, I'd agree to whatever punishment they got.
As I say - agree with carron.

Its alright saying this crap about not slapping your kids when they are naughty etc from the Government big-wigs.

Its OK for them who can afford expensive private tuition, nannies and, child minders.

Its us who are paying for it.
Gbg - hey hun, I don't decry anyone who manages to do a good job with their children, after bringing them up as a lone parent - or otherwise. It's a difficult job to bring kids up properly even when there are two parents around, but anyone who does it single-handedly has my fullest admiration. I might be in an ivory tower from where you're sitting, but I'm not blind. I know people from all walks of life, with the usual degree of problems. Wealthy peoples' kids go wrong as well - look at Jeremy Bamber, and a certain Lord's son who's done time for drug offences. Rich, poor or somewhere in between, the same standards should be set., and all murdering scum should be off the streets.
the problem in this country at the moment is that the Liberal do-gooders cannot see that their social experiment has failed.

They said: Teachers should not administer corporal punishment in schools.

Result: Children run riot in schools because they know the teachers cannot do anything about it.

They said: Policemen cannot reprimand petty wrongdoers.

Result: Children actually taunting the police because they know that the police cannot arrest them.

They said: Children should not be smacked by their parents.

Result: Children actually threatening to sue their parents.

They said: Prisoners should be rehabilitated not punished.

Result: Criminals no longer fear prison. They have as good if not better facilities than free members of the public.

In conclusion, the social experiment has failed and it's time for a new approach. Arrest criminals of whatever age. Imprison them for as long as it takes for them to see the error of their ways. Instill discipline in schools. allow parents to discipline their children and allow teachers to discipline pupils as they see fit.

No doubt the loony left such as sp1814 and others will disagree. But who cares what they think?
I see your point tnt. The powers that be should stop interfering in peoples' lives, but this anti-smacking thing was brought in, in good faith I believe. It's just gone over the top.
I don't smack my own children, but they've had taps on the hands, for instance, if they've repeatedly tried to touch anything dangerous, such as the oven. Some people can't control their tempers, and that's when the real probs arise, like recently, when that poor baby had its spine snapped, plus other terrible injuries. The story really upset me, and people like the guy who did it, should be strung up.
Couldn't agree more Hammer-Head,

We have been forced to not being able to control or discipline are own kids.

What the future generations will have to contend with I will never know, but I bet in 20/30 years time this Country will have a big, big problem, unfortunately.
And cheers to you as well, Hammer-Head. Lots of people think along the same lines, but the government are too arrogant to listen to us.

I think eventually, people'll just get sick of it all and rebel, as well as take matters into their own hands.
Whoever made up and implemented these ridiculous ideas should be sacked, and never allowed to hold down government positions again.
>What is going on with Britain

Its what you get after 10 years of Labour government.
This is the sort of thing that is now becoming an every day occurance, and this spineless governemnt seem to do nothing about it.

From todays news

It can be really worrying when you read and hear about all the dreadful things that happen, the story about that poor little child made me cry. I do think though that there are also some lovely youngsters around, watching some of the young cadets helping the old soldiers with thier wreaths at the cenotaph was brilliant, they were so caring and considerate. Also some small children talking about how much they respected the veterans-while there are still parents who raise youngsters like these, there is still hope for the future.
Unfortunately this is not one problem. It is a mixture of so many inter related matters. Life in any material world becomes too hard a competitive that even to meet two ends together both parents are pushed into earning. Sometimes they do because they just do not want to be called house wives but instead carrier women. That is the beginning of the problem, no parents to keep an eye then no discipline. Then comes in single mother culture that mainly is in council estates. Reason behind that is a council house, benefits and time to sit in front of TV with alcoholic drink on the side table. Then is the backing up of your kids with regardless whatever they are or have done. My child has a right to do that culture. May be about 1% people did abuse their kids physically and perhaps 2% teachers might have done that. To combat that we have banned 100% parents and teachers from touching the kids. Few think they have become untouchables. What they would do to their own children when they have. Probably lead them by example into crimes which by then is not crime for them but a profession. A Lion will teach his cubs how to hunt whereas a Hyena will teach how to snatch from others.

That was all human mentality and no doubt human mind does go astray unless there are limitations set. These limitations are by law and order that is practical. If hanging one scum bag saves life of other 50 then innocent people then why not? If few whips to one bad one keep others safe from his/her hands then why not? Or would you rather have few kids committing suicides because they were bullied by one in the school who is still there and doing it.

Now dont call these laws Sharia and call whatever you like but if they give you a better society why do you have problem with what it is called?
