I think it is safe to say he is barking mad.
A very unhappy man who has lost his son. Nice to know you are SO understanding !
Question Author
cant remember saying i wasnt understanding? i said he's lost the plot
Question Author
no in fact i didnt even say that, i asked if he had.
He was exactly the same before Dodi died, blaming the establishment for everything because they wouldn't give him a British passport.

Where he got his money from I don't know, but it is safe to say he never had the plot.

People lose loved ones in tragic circumstances every day. Mr Fayed isn't helping himself.
I think it's guilt: the real culprit (apart from Diana not wearing her seatbelt, foolish woman) was the drunk driver - who was al Fayed's employee. So al Fayed would like to blame everyone else or anyone else. But I'm afraid he must bear much of the responsibility himself.
Maybe he has over reacted. But ask Gromit. He put a post on here recently where a newspaper published a story about an 82 year old author who was killed by an intruder and stole his identity. Mysteriously 8 days later his house burnt down said to contain vital evidence. The murderer was caught and tried but the evidence was held in secret because he wanted to call MI5 as a witness.

You cannot read Gromits posting now because it was deleted from Answerbank along with all the contributions to it.
Can someone tell me why this t1t get's the time of day? How come he's even in the country anyway? we're always being told he can't have a passport.
I feel for him because he lost his son. But at the same time I think he is a very manipulitive man, and a bully. He bullied Dodi and he manipulated Diana. He loved to get one over on the establishment. her wanted the world to know that his son was romancing Diana. I think he was probably responsible for tipping off the press about their movements in those last few weeks. I dont believe she was pregnant when she died. Why the hell did she not fasten her seat belt? I think this inquest is a waste of time and money. These conspiracy theories will never go away.
How can someone go from selling coke on the streets of Egypt to the being the owner of Harrod's? I've worked all my life and can just about afford a can of coke!
I haven't heard any evidence that proves beyond doubt that Diana wasn't pregnant, because she was embalmed quickly, which made it impossible for anyone to say yes or no, but irrespective of everything else, Al-Fayed is still grieving the loss of his son, & therefore clutching at straws. However, despite the man feeling peeved at not being given a British passport, it's crossed my mind more than once, that it's vaguely possible he has a point. Would a man such as himself leave himself open to ridicule by announcing "wild stories"? It doesn't look good for his business interests if he appears to've "lost the plot" - yet he still sticks by his story. I hope he finds peace within himself.
i have an open mind on this ,i dont think that he has lost the plot , i think he is saying it as he saw it , and he shouldnt be judged by his nationality and his wealth, the royals are not perfect as we all know
Very true shanx - FAR from perfect. Whatever the truth, I feel just as sorry for Al-Fayed as I do for Diana's family.
As for the gentleman's sudden rise to wealth...er...well I think it's the same as we're suddenly seeing a lot of extremely wealthy russians taking the limelight. I wish I knew their business formula!
i sit on the fence ice and observe , so cant give a positive answer right now , i hope the truth comes out in the end as diana would want
Even if there is some truth in what Al Fayed says, it will never come out because it involves the Royal Family.
If the establishment had murdered Diana there would have been a thousand better ways to do so, rather than a busy Paris road, relying on her not wearing a seat belt and involving so many more people.

I'm sure I read some where that his name is just Mohamed Fayed, with no Al. Apparently in Islam, I may be wrong so please correct me if I am, that the Al is some sort of title that is given to people but Mr Fayed awarded to himself...
i think this is great entertainment, he has waited ten years to use the protection of the court to reel off all these accusations and inuendos, some are particularly amusingly put over

If all these people were as powerful as Mr Fayed claims, wouldn't they have got rid of him by now, to shut him up?
Ethel, I so agree. This man has made himself a laughing stock. This whole fiasco has cost the taxpayer millions. I feel sympathy to anyone who loses a child, but I am afraid any sympathy I had for Fayed has long gone.

lynbrown makes a very good point.
