Throw a Sickie !!!

Hello peeps,

Really need two/three weeks off work and i have 0 holiday leave left !
Iv not had a day off sick for over 3 years so feel like i would be believed without much suspician only prob is after much brain wracking cant think of anything that would keep me off work that long short of breaking my own leg ( not an option ) any ideas ???

Can't you just approach your employers, explain why you need time off and negotiate a sabbatical?

The real problem will be convincing a doctor to issue a sick note for nothing for that length of time.

umm, dunno, glandular fever? um do you need a drs note? or could u just make something up. couldnt you just say you feel really ill. i dont know

for that length of time yes, most, if not all employers will require a sick note from your doctor.

Kp nonuts - hello again - yes you guessed it, he has relented and splashed the cash for a hol to go see but has left me with the obviouse problem - Also to all who mentioned sick note - ****** !! never thought of that !!

I believe you can take 5 days off as self certificated. After that you will have to have a doctors note.

If you have a good doctor? they will sign you off with a virus or stress or whatever it is you choose to say you're suffering with.

btw. Stress is alrightish... but don't go down the depression route. No good for insurances.

ermmmm.... I question? if you are going to S.A for 3 weeks? how are you gonna explain your healthy glow and suntan???......

You could negotiate unpaid leave....

You say you have Flu. The first week is covered by a Statutary sick note,which you fill in yourself.The second week you ask the Doc for another week cos you are still feeling weak ,after your VERY bad dose of flu.If your lucky and a good actor he may give you the two weeks. off. Does this reply make me an accessory to fraud?

sabatical is a good idea...it's when you take an amount of time off for a reason and are not paid during the time you take off.

Hi again gummy I think that I did tell you on friday afternoon to throw a sicki but you think that you have problems.

How the hell am I going to deal with this one.
Liverpool are beating arsenal by 1-0 now and its just coming up to half time.

Flu - God damb the flu !!! Think its a winner only prob my female doc is a stuck up cow and would require some convinsing ( shocking spelling) !! hmm maybe stress, a lot of people in my job go off with stress but then everyone takes the Michael behind there back..
Id love to take unpaid leave but iv knows a few get it refused because of "operational needs" then they have blown the sickie cover !!

tell your doc it hurts and you need to rest it
he has no idea if you tell truth or not and will give you sick note
