I'm going to Tesco. Should be quiet enough to be safe from being rammed by trolley/mobile phone combinations.

Supermarkets were pretty quiet on Saturday all right but I'm worried that the other half of the population will have cottoned on by now and will swamp them!

Having read the Amicus page it's a bit of a storm in a tea-cup. The advice seems simple a statement of facts of employment law - some of these news reports make it sound as if they're telling you how to put on the best craoky voice when you call up.

Must be a slow news day!

My hubby is a massive footy fan and was chuffed to bits not to be working, he is a promotions display fitter in the big stores and works all sorts of funny hours. At the eleventh hour he got told he would have to be in store in London at 5.00pm!!!!! How crappy is that? I think they will just have a little radio on if the store allows. He can't afford to throw a sickie though and he wouldn't dream of it.Bit bloomin obvious anyway.

Fortunately for me I'm in a job that attracts quite a few corporate freebies, so this afternoon, from 3pm onwards, I will be in a pub with as much free beer as I like and BBQ grub.

Can't wait.

Tomorrow, however, is going to be a very very long day.

Just been told we can all go at 4.30.... YAY!

before the last England match, we received the following e-mail from personnel. Spot the deliberate flaw....

Subject: Saturday

Steve,

Given the events happening on Saturday I suggest that you finish the shift at 15:00hrs to enable all Englishmen to watch the match

The company will honour the payment of the full rate for this shift.

DM

Err wasn't kick off 2pm mushroom??!!!

Unfortunately we were not given time off for it but I worked through my lunch and am leaving at 4!!! Should get home just in time!!
