Not me. It would run and run 'til bl@dy doomsday! There'd be no way of knowing where it all started! There isn't enough paper in the world to sort that one out. Incidentaly , have you noticed how we, BY LAW !!!, MUST purchase a licence to be duped and lied to ? What a laugh !!!
I think I am surprised. I imagined a low ranking lacky would be made a scapegoat to deflect from the high-ranking 'wheelers and dealers.'

Of course an terrible cynic might point out that the top officials at both Scotland Yard and the Crown Prosecution Service regularly crop up in the honours lists, (assuming they don't cause the incumbant Government too much grief).

Lord Coe
Lord Norman (baron) Fowler
Lord Jeffrey Archer the most prolific pathological liar in world history, perjurer, insider dealer, and thief

The "Honours" system in this country doesnt pass the laugh test.
I can agree with that sentiment Lovejoy!

Easy answer - abolish the honours system - but alas it seems that pandering to the egos of puffed up businessmen and civil servants is a hard habit to break.

Wonder if the French still have any of those guillotines that'd polish up with a touch of WD40
The only charge involved in this will be to us the taxpayers, we will be charged for all the costs involved, they all wee in the same pot, anybody know who I now pay to get a knighthood ? i won't tell anyone else, honest, you can trust me I want to be an MP.
No

Don't really care, bribery and corruption has always existed. Someone sold cash for honours so what? Someone takes someone out for a meal or for a round of golf or offers them other trinkets to cement a deal is the same thing. Yawn.
Stories like this will never die, because people don't actually want evidence.

- The story crops up and everyone presumes guilt and demands an inquiry.
- They get an inquiry.
- The inquiry doesn't produce the result that people were hoping for.
- People dismiss the inquiry and carry on presuming guilt.
As expected.

there was no way Levy was gonna get punished, can you imagine the beans hed have spilt ?

it was dragged out as long as possible, firstly so blair could be gotten out of the firing line and secondly so various other people could get rid of /concoct /hide /stories/paperwork/evidence etc etc etc etc

yet another expected whirewash from the labour trash "running" this country.

apparrently that other arch liar and master of deceit mandelson is up for a lordship, says it all really
I agree with you NJOK
Why do some here on AB argue that the powers that be - for example went to war illegally , with complete disregard to the law .

Yet in this case when the CPS ( part of the same system of law we have in this country ) says that there is insufficient evidence to charge anybody , they dont accept it
The fact that everyone involved seem to be falling over themselves to have no quarell with the police speaks volumes.Lets call it a draw and it will all go away and we wll all be OK!!! It seems that a lot of damage has been done to British politics by this debacle-Hello--what happened to ''Iraq'' did that reflect well on the political scene??I think that no one will be surprised that it all, came to nothing, apart from the legal bill[cheap at 1 million I thought] and we all know who will pick up that tab!!!!!!I could go on but I am disgusted by the whole affair.
Did anybody seriously expect any other outcome?!!
