What does 'found objects' mean in reference to a type of painting?

It's an 'arty' way of saying that rather than just using traditional mediums, the artist also chose to include things s/he had 'found', which could be anything from rocks, grass, twigs etc, through to rubbish or manufactured goods. Basically, it's the use in art of objects not created specifically for the art itself.
