why is the pope meeting the parents of poor madelline mcann?to apologise for gods actions?do you think there is a god if he sanctions such pain and suffering on his followers?i certainly dont............

What next? Campaigning to ease Third world debt?
These so called parents neglected their child and now are milking it for all its worth the whole "circus" makes me sick. She has been missing for nearly a month and the chances of a safe return are practically zero. It's already been done to death.
What about an audinece with the Police charging them for not taking proper care of their kids.

From what you say , you do not beleive in a god - and that is your choice , of course .
I was just wondering though , do you ever call on god's name when you are in a spot of bother / taken aback /suprised etc - you know , something like :-
' O my god '

etc
If yes - then who / what are you referringh to - and why ?

If attending church and meeting the Pope gives one tiny iota of relief to these poor people, who are you to sneer at it?
My heart goes out to this poor couple, and it simply beggars belief that many folk are watching their every move now suspiciously. And even if they are milking every single media attention possible, can you blame them? They are doing, what they can to help get their child back.
Hopefully none of us will EVER experience their pain, it's just a shame that we seem incapable of empathising with them.

Humans are given FREE WILL to choose how they live their lives , and if you beleive that death is not the end ( or indeed if you do ) it is up to you to decide what sort of person you choose to be .

I suppose the parents are trying to get some sort of comfort in their mind and conscience, afterall, it's religion that most people turn to (even the atheists) when situations seem hopeless and completely out of their hands...
As for blaming God for this, remember none of this would have happened if the parents had only been a little more cautious about their children ... cause and consequence and all that. If anything, it has made parents around the world much more aware when it comes to taking care of their children, who knows how many other would-be missing children cases have been prevented as a result?

I don't think that the parents are having a private audience with the Pope, anyone who is going to visit the vatican can apply for one of the Wednesday visits where you are in a general audience.It does worry me that all of the publicity could be causing more harm than good( for the child) and that this is becoming more about the parents but hey, isn't that how it all started.

What! This is a child, not a stolen wallet or purse, which you could accept never seeing again. The search should never stop. How can you be so flippant? Blame isn't the important thing here and focusing on the punishing the parents should be the last thing on peoples minds. Is your opinion that because they left her alone they don't deserve their daughter back as some sort of punishment?
Do you think its that easy to wake up one morning and decide that you have searched enough and she probably won't be coming back, so lets pack up and go home and forget about her?

I am neither stupid or thick, but you are very arrogant and unfeeling. Yes she may still be found, a recent story from Austria springs to mind and she was missing for eight years. God help anyone related to you, that is if you actually have anyone that you love unconditionally and vice a versa.
I don't for one minute think you have really thought about this and or even thought about putting yourself in there shoes. I could think of many scenarios that we could force who was to blame..
Attractive woman out late on her own - raped - her fault should be locked up after dark.
Big House - burgled - owners fault because it obvious that there would be nice things in there and fancy the occupants going out.
Bank - armed robbery - fancy having cash in there, crazy world.
Wife beaten by husband - her fault maybe she should do as she is told or maybe not considered marriage at all.
Lock your children up or never leave them for even a second and the offender adapts... one way or another they will get to your children.

I really hope his prayers work, even though I'm not a massive believer. Whatever might work you'd give it a shot wouldn't you? I would be desperate for solace if I were her parents and I hope this gives them it, even if it's only for a minute.

nicecupoftea, why are the"abductors" not forgeting that we dont know yet if she has been abducted, the only ones to balme? how can you possibly say that, the parents left her on her own while they went out for a meal, the only people to blame are the parents no one else. if she is found say in a ditch would you blame the people who dug the ditch??? likewise if she took pills would you blame the doctor who prescribed them, of course you wouldnt, its the parent fault 100%

Say you had entrusted the care of your small child to them...if your daughter was Madeleines friend for instance and they had invited her along on holiday with them. You probably would have agreed to it and thought "what possible harm could come to her in the care of two responsible people..doctors as well??????
So off they go for a lovely holiday, but then something terrible happens...the unthinkable...your child goes missing from their apartment at night whilst the Macanns have gone out for a meal with their friends. They give you all the excuses they've given ev
