She's obviously not willing to help herself, and enough of our money has been spent trying to help her.
She's not mentally handicapped.
So If her family can't help, then i'm afraid I have no sympathy,
Question Author
totally agree, she knows what she is doing, she blames it on post natal depression but that was a few years ago and is still eating, as you say she had a large amount of money spent on her, she lost the weight but now has put on even more
Why can her husband come on tv looking so worried when he is partly the one responsible for how she is.People like her don't deserve to be helped who can't try and help themselves.Sorry for being so blunt but I agree with Lonnie.
She spent 3 months in the Priory at a cost of 65,000 to the tax payer then put all the weight she lost back on again. Plenty of women have post natal depression but don't weigh 42 stone! I find it difficult to feel any sympathy for this woman.
Only way to help her is make her pay.I am sure what she scoffs in food in a day will help pay for it.
She's a lazy grotesque fat slob. No sympathy at all - if she wants to lose weight, she would.

I get sick and tired of bloaters banging on about being victims: they are not victims they are lazy - I've said this before, it really isn't rocket science - losing weight is easy.................eat less and exercise more. That's it.
Question Author
i dont agree that its ALWAYS the persons fault but i dont think this woman is helping herself
The only time people 'can't help' being fat is if they've got an underlying medical condition such as an under-active thyroid or Prada-Wills (sp?) syndrome or any other condition that makes them pre-disposed to being fat.

I have every sympathy for these people.

People who are 'feeling a bit sad....I think I'll eat a bucket of lard to cheer myself up' are NOT victims.

And as for people who say they have 'tried every diet but nothing works', well here's an idea - eat less and exercise more. You WILL lose weight.

Unless there is a medical condition there is not really an excuse for being fat.
She hadn't been able to leave her room for 18 months but still managed to snack all day. These snacks were brought to her by her husband. He also needs to be dealt with. What pratts - both of them. How she has the gaul to say that she doesn't want her kids to be motherless, does she actually think in the condition she is in now that she is being a good mother?? Beggars belief.
i agree with everyone on here, was watching her this morning on GMTV when Fiona Phillips was showing her the woman in America who by fair means or foul had managed to shed all her blubber, and then when fiona said to her 'Well what do you think of that' she looked like she was thinking more on the lines of F**k off Fiona wheres my breakfast!! Exasperated was my feeings about this woman, who should be just left to get on with it, doesnt deserve the airtime!
Christ i hope i never get a job at the Samaritans : (
She is a fine example of the abuse of our health services and I applaud the NHS managers who said, 'Enough is enough!' (Not that she'd ever use that expression herself, apparently.)

flip flop if you re-read your first post you will realise that you seemed to generalise all overweight women, and its no quite as easy as eating less exercise more but i do agree with all the rest of the post and everyone else's
Husband should be taken into custody for attempted murder, rest of family warned that the same fate awaits them if they provide her with any food not on her diet sheet.

NHS to check thyroid level and if she is depressed and medicate if necessary. It sounds as if she is on steroids these should be reduced if possible .

Could someone give her exercise to do in bed and fix a CCTV camera to ensure she does them.

Tough love should improve her condition
Sorry to ask a potentially stupid question, but didn't she actually die earlier today, or is that someone else???
Question Author
dont think she did, john inman did
She's not being left to die by NHS, if she stops eating for a few days or just eats less or drinks more soup, she'll immediately notice the difference. Even a few days of fasting or eating only 1 meal a day will teach her a little self-control. That is the only cure, operations or drugs will not help her lose weight, she just has to stop stuffing herself that's all.
There aren't any excuses for her being that size, but i'm happy for the NHS to continue to plough money into keeping her from dying. We're talking about doing what is morally right. If you're dying of cigarette induced cancer, you're a teenager cutting yourself with a knife, you've boozed yourself into a coma, or you just can't lay of the damn takeaways, then I'm not saying I like having my money spent that way, but it IS the right thing to do.
NHS have said they will help but she needs to lose a bit of weight before they can do any operation because of the pressure on her heart. So she should try
well she clearly cant get up and get herself any food so what if we take the hubby away and pop round and give her food once a day then that would be sufficient help and she coudnt accuse the NHS of neglect.
I dont mean to be so harsh but i really think that would work, if no one gives her food, she'll have to lose weight to get some.
The thought just turns mens minds to being celibate! She must have a good personality.
