How and where and whom do I write to nominate a person? I mean a normal member of the public who has done and achieved very quietly so much for so many and has never achieved any recognition? I have seen the honours list in Devon and the people are basically all in Councils or Schools or the civil service. They worked their way up the ladder to achieve fame but so often its the inoffensive quiet person in the background who has loyally undertaken a job for many years unrewarded and often unpaid that I feel are far more deserving.

Have a look here, http://www.honours.gov.uk/nominate.aspx Mind and spell ma name properly...
I notice that not only did the Virgin Atlantic boss (not Branson) get a gong, so did the head shoe shiner in their airport lounge. Well, not such a loud gong of course, but the principle is there.
Just find someone who has misled the country into going to war (ie 45 mins fame). misled the country, misled the House of Commons and misled the cabinet and he will probably gain promotion and be knighted. (ie JS)

Thanks for that link and I will make sure I spell your name properly when I nominate you, Korbygloon
the URL is good zimzam

i think if you nominnate an ethnic minority you've got a better chance - so there is a space for you or your mum !

The checklist will make you laugh - service over and above, making a contribution etc etc
I think it was better when you could buy one
