I know this question will cause a uproar amongst some of the AB subscribers. But first let me say that it is not meant to be at all offensive, or racist it is just meant to start a honest debate and to try and find answers. Having got rid of these necessary formalities here goes.

On the James Whale show on Talk Sport Radio last night, his topic was why in this day of increased gun crime, are the perpetrators mainly from the black communities? And why is it mainly young black males who carry guns? Is it a fashion item, or can the blame be put firmly on the shoulders Gangster Rap music? All other reasons where discussed ie under achievement, social depravation, role models, but no one came up with any firm answer.

I have thought about this and came up with a rather controversial theory of my own, but I have decided to take the cowards way out and not go there, due entirely to the fact that some subjects cannot be discussed freely and frankly.

What does "Yo bloodclot" mean?
flip-flop

It's a West Indian expression which is pretty offensive. It means "the blood from a woman's period".

Bumbaclot is the more friendly version.

Raasclot is the more offensive version.

I haven't actually heard anyone say any of those words for years...but then again, like I mentioned before, I always have my iPod playing when in public.

...better to listen to Scissor Sisters, than offensive teenagers.
Mornin, SP1814, hope you enjoyed SOTP. This is realated to ''bloodclot' (how discusting!) but do you think some black people (probabily one of WARDYS lower 50%) have more 'attitude'' and a bigger chip on their sholder have their counterparts?
I've never had any problem of aggression with an Asian person and lived in a predominantly Asian community. (Plumstead). But living in Brixton and Stockwell was a lot different.

I am tolerant and woud never hurt somebody or be racist towards them. My experience has made me wary though and I do find it quite tense around black people.

I live in Devon now so it isn't an issue.
admarlow,

Sorry - not sure I get your question. Are you asking whether there are white counterparts to the the black people in the 50% (a figure which I would argue with at length because it breaks the 'bell curve' mathematical rule which can be applied across most races/social groups).

If I understand your question correctly, then yeah, I believe there are counterparts.

Definitely.

However, they are never described as having chips on their shoulder...their thing is that the world owes them something...and they're waiting to collect.

Oh, and yes - Snakes On A Plane was great, even though this was the second time I've seen it.
ha ha SP1814, I have you in my mind as Doctor Trueman from Eastenders, and your brother as Paul Trueman, sorry. I think that there is a bell curve but the bell is upside down, if that makes sence. Re. my question on attitude, simply I ment that to me many young black people have an attitude problem (so do all teenages but it seems more extreme in black kids?)
Jedimistress,

What sucks about your experiences is that it seems that now you have a view which can never be tempered by further association (unless the Notting Hill carnival up sticks and moves to Paignton).
amarlow...I'll answer your post in two parts.

I had to look up Dr Trueman (haven't seen Eastenders in a while) and you're scarily near the truth.

Secondly...with regards to attitude. I honestly, honestly can say hand on heart that I don't notice it.

Now, I reckon I have an idea why...I'm over 6ft tall, and I work out regularly. I theorise that I won't get attitude because I look as if I can handle myself.

That's what I reckon it is...most opportunistic burglars will pick on a house which looks as if it can be broken into easily.

...likewise, I guess that those who want to be aggressive and bolshy will only pick on those whom they think they can 'take'.

Having said that, I did get into a massive brawl with four teenagers on a night bus a while ago because they were picking on a gay bloke who was on his own.

After what happened to that barman, I just saw red.

So I dunno - people on that bus might've looked at me and thought that I was a thug unless they knew why I was fighting.

Ended up with a lovely imprint of a sovereign ring on my forehead.

Hilarious.
SP please, please watch an old eastender on ukgold or something, you will love it, he even has a naughty brother (Paul)
admarlow...

I will not be watching Eastenders until the producers come to their senses and bring Angie Watts back.

I don't think we're going to get anotheoldgit's theory now, which is a pity because judging by his post, it was something he'd put a lot of thought into.

I think you could be right about Orientals W~M , its true, and I have also found them on the whole to be very polite (even the bangkok cabbies who are trying to rip me off, still have a smile on their face), after all where did Buddhism, the Dali Lama, Tao and Zen all come from? Ive never heard of a Buddist suiside bomber, even though they believe in reincarnation.
Bjung Jin Lee Wardy? The bloke who just breached security at no 10? Judging by his name he may be of Chinese origin.

Well he does seem to be a bit of a comedy terrorist.
He jumped over a wall at the back of no10 armed with a deadly breadknife apparently, so he's not going to be on anyone's most wanted list.
Ward~Minter,

You wrote:

"When was the last time the police were looking for a Chinaman? "

Probably in the late 1900s which was the last time the word 'Chanaman' was used in everyday conversation.

I stand by what I said earlier, you have degrees of good and bad in all races, the blanket good/bad theory you espouse only works to a certain degree.

For instance, someone with Jamaican parents will have a whole different cultural identity than, say, someone with Somalian parents, or Ethiopian parents, or South African parent, or indeed American parents, but they can all be black...black, but completely disparate.
Furthermore, no-one ever really dies in soap operas.

Bobby Ewing came back to life, as did Dirty Den.
Question Author
Well my question did indeed create a healthy debate, I now feel obligated to publish my controversial theory, as a thank you to all the contributers to this subject, especially sp1814 who being in his own admission a black person, and who may be the one most offended by my theory. I do hope not because as I stated in my question I am not a racist, I just want to put a new slant on this subject.

As with the recent debate regarding savage breeds of dogs. It got me thinking that could it be that humans also have different aggresive traits, along with other differences that exist in the genes of the various races on this planet. For example, Why are Males more aggressive than Females? Why do Asians tend to be the most intelligent? Why are Europeans generally the most placid? Why are Latins more fiery? Why are Blacks better athletes, boxers and yet do not achieve at swimming?
Having thought more deeply into why it seems Blacks tend to be more violent, I decided to surf the web on this subject and came up with a book called Race,Evolution, and Behavior, written by J. Philippe Rushton of the Department of Psychology, at the Universary of Western Ontario, Canada.

So before anyone jumps in to call my theory racist rat trap, please take the time to read some of this book, especially page 9 on diffences among Blacks,Whites and Orientals and pages 14-15 on crime.

Sorry I do not know how to do the short cut for the address.
