Ok, i'm ready for any abuse that comes my way but this is a genuine question. Why is the muslim community, (not all of them i know) up in arms about what the pope said. It seems to me they are constantly looking to say so and so is racist etc. They seem to have adapted a real 'woe is me' mentality. And are bringing more publicity to what the Pope said. Now we all know about it. I for one wouldn't of had a clue if they hadn't made such a big deal of it. Or am I just being insensitive. I apologise now because i'm bound to upset someone with this!

With the obvious rise of Islam here in this country I genuinely fear for my grandchildren, The muslim faith and their power to enforce it, along with our so-called weak leaders who bend over backwards to ensure they don`t offend, this once free country will succumb to the muslim religion`s strong will. I foresee future generations having to bow to their superiority or risk being executed as non-believers etc.
Also at the moment where is the balance of law? We can`t even dare suggest allah is anything less than perfect, yet muslims can walk down the street with placards demanding our beheading and jesus is allah`s slave!
I won`t ask what this worlds coming to, I know.
One more thing I won`t write any more as this link will more than probably be taken off, described as being an insult!
We hear so much about how Muslims are offended again but what about the how the rest of civilisation feel about them who are ALWAYS protesting about something, and quite frankly I am a little offerded by British muslims marching around London, maybe they should practice what they preach (or then again, maybe not!!!!!!)
I agree, Lonnie. The problem is not so much what religion you follow but whether you are a hardliner about it. The trouble is, if you're religious (I'm not), I can't see how you can not be a hardliner. Is it right to just choose the bits of the Bible or the Quran you feel like following and ignore the rest? Is that true belief, or just convenience?
i agree he made a faux pax by his comments BUT at the end of the day - He's a ROMAN CATHOLIC. He thinks all non-Catholics are heathens and are therefore going to Hell for all eternity.

Why in the world should people, least of all Muslims, attribute such importance to a man who does not even declare to speak for all humanity.

If he was a politician - a leader of a national government - YES, then he should apologise profusely and possibly be sanctioned because he is supposed to represent all people, regardless of faith.

BUT, he's the pope. And, his faith massacred thousands of people in history. Why do we care?

It is a bigger crime that people have used his comments to create havoc and commit crime. I read this morning that a nun was murdered in Somalia because of this person's comments.

Ridiculous in the extreme.
It doesn't matter what the Pope said, next week they will have another excuse, someone somewhere will draw a cartoon, or shoot a muslim who turns out to be a pedophile anyway and the will be in uproar again. Don't they have jobs to go to, instead of being permanantly offended.
May I ask, as a non-believer, How does ''Ya Boo Christians do it too'' answer the question of Muslim violence ?
I agree with everything you say bustergutt, I am afraid this is exactly what is looming on the horizion, and judging from some of the posts to this question, you cannot blame just our weak leaders for failing to see what is bubbling under the surface of this once proud country,

I wonder if these liberal minded individuals think they will somehow be safe, when the inevitable happens? No they will suffer the same fate as all other appeasers have in the past.
This is actually the only thing that has really frightened me because if ever the Muslim extremists are stupid enough to strike at the Vatican then there's likely to be a near civil war in every country of the world.
I have a lot of time for peaceful Muslims, and I think the Pope is was naieve in the extreme to have said what he did, but both factions need to put this to bed very quickly before a nutter from one side or the other ignites somthing so big it'll be practically unstoppable.
My understanding of this is that the Pope quoted someobne who said that Mohammed had brought "only evil and inhuman" things to the World.
To protest agains this and to show the Pope how wrong he really was Muslims fire-bombed churches in the West Bank and shot dead a nun and her bodyguard in Mogadishu.
Well I for one am convinced by these peoples arguments and these fire-bombs and killings are clear evidence that there is no link whatsoever between some Muslims and violence.
One day the whole world will unite in one religion - most probably Islam, and so what it is as good as any
..as long as your mothers/wifes/daughters don't mind having to cover their faces in public!
metagirl well said and well done
or admarlow the alternative is

as long as your mothers/daughters/wives dont mind wearing mini skirts and drinking themselves silly as they get shafted against a wall by a passing drunk....bet you dont like that image very much...but hey...why dont you take a walk down a shire town and compare it with a walk down a proper town lets say in a civilsed place.
jno, your the voice of common sense, no doubt about it, but my problem is that unless somethings done, this country's heading for either civil war ao anarchy, (my view), they've now called for the Pope to be killed, even if he's offended them, does he deserve to die for his remarks?.
so acording to Dom Tuk its no morals or Islam, anyone else agree?
-- answer removed --
and even fewer women behave how you have described, Ive noticed you have started name calling again Dom Tuk
No Lonnie... This country is not heading for civil war or anarchy as you put it. It's certain Daily Mail readers who are gullible enough to assume so and create an atmosphere of fear and hatred.
Oh dear, oh dear Doggy2 you are so naive, hope I'm not around to say "I told you so." Which football ground will you be going to when the beheadings begin?
One word... Ignorance!
