I used to have a badge..about 15-16 years ago, but my mum put it in the wash attached to my jumper, and all the blue ship design was washed off.

I heard this on the radio, apparently, holders can get into various places free, but now they are being sold, some places have stopped it.

I have one, not mine though, I buy and sell at auctions occasionally, and this was in the bottom of a job lot, its got the certificate of who it was awarded to, along with the name and age, the woman would now be about forty, no area of where she lives, but I have this notion of trying to trace her or her family, they might be interested in having it.

oh think 121 sounds cheap, i wonder if Princess Ann still has hers? She had a gold one didn't she? I bet they are worth alot more, is there a list of who got gold ones?

I own a Blue Peter badge (I lost it about 25 years ago, but I am still technically the owner of it, wherever it is) but it never came with any type of certificate to verify that it was mine.
Bernado - I have to ask...what did you do to earn it?
I have one too (somewhere at my parents house). I got mine circa 1984 and it's plastic.
All you badge winners are being very modest. We'd love to hear what you did to get them,as sp1814 says. Did you appear on the programme?

I was lucky enough to get one last year, you don't get a certificate with one, and the only reason I got one was because I went to the studio with a friend who was onthe show and they asked me if I wanted one!!

They were obviusly not in such high demand last year, I thought it could only get me into the nautral history museum, and that is free anyway, so I will have to dig it out now and get myself to Legoland!!

All I did was write a letter to BP asking for a family tree of all their pets. They replied saying that they didn't have the deatils, but here is a badge anyway. I think that they have issued well over a million badges over the years, so it's not particularly unusual. It was a sort of hard plastic one, and the blue image of the ship was already getting worn out by the time I lost it. I believe that BP has always kept a record in their archives of everybody that they've given a badge to, but I'm not sure.
Just had a look on ebay and a gold one is going for 475 !! 5 days left on it too
Just to answer a sub question, the family trees of many blue peter pets are in various BP annuals. Particular Petra and Jasons in the 60s, Goldie and Bonnies in the 70s/80s etc. However most of the latest pets are resuced and therefore their pedigree is unknown.
