thanks friend, i wasn't dreaming, then
I have been through the National Portrait Gallery online search catalogue and there are no pictures of Diana on display, these include any that had her sons or Widower in them. I tell you what, if they did that to my Mum I would be round that place banging on the door 'til I got answers, mind, I am a commoner of course, and Royalty have to do what is expected.
Rather didgusting, isn't it. I never liked the woman, but she's the mother of the future King, and as such, deserves the recognition, and permanent place in our history books and art galleries.
Didn't like her either, but as said previously, as she was the mother of our future King, it seems a bit daft to pretend she didn't exist.
I dont really think a commitee at the NPG all sat round and conspired to "wipe Lady di from history".
Why do people lose all grasp of reality when it comes to this woman! I'm sure there a lot of portraits of lots of people NOT in the NPG and no one complains. Just cos one gallery in the whole world decides there is no place at the moment for a picture of this person suddenly she is being 'wiped fom history'.Ridiculous!

Removing her portrait from the NPG does NOT remove her from history, to do that, the Palace will have to find and destroy all tv, video, magazine, newspaper images of the woman worldwide, erase everyones memory for the last 40 years, and get rid of the 2 princes.

Medieval kings have managed the last one but even that didnt work as I remember reading about them during history class

Im with Lonnie and gary baldy on this one, ie, i didnt like her, and to say that she is being removed from history Ridiculous and laughable

that's interesting. Of course there are lots of people who don't have portraits in galleries; but this particular gallery is meant to be for pictures of those in British public life and history. I would have thought Diana, whatever you thought of her, would very definitely qualify; and I too think that vanishing about the time of the Charles/Vanilla wedding is suspicious.

Stories vanishing from Ceefax, however, isn't suspicious at all. It's just a news service; older stories are replaced by more recent ones all the time.

jno, I disagree, the story was on Ceefax for a very short time. Usually stories about royals are done to death. This one was not on the news nor on the BBc website. i bet they were warned off.
" i bet they were warned off. " Or perhaps they just thought it was a "non-story" .i.e. of zero importance.
Weird - I did a search and found 41 portrait of her: http://www.npg.org.uk/live/search/person.asp?search=ss&sText=diana&LinkID=mp05244

OEV, if you look at the details of those 41 from your link you will see "Not on display".
