In fairness the roller coaster has been operating safely for over 30 years. I don't think a freak accident, which is what this seems to be, can be compared to the Titanic incident.
Roller coasters are regulated, cobbled together submarines are not.

People take risks because life alone is not exciting enough and 'It'll be fine'.
James Cameron is a veteran of 33 dives and he thought it was a slap dash operation. The bloke in charge was totally arrogant about it when warned in the past. If you disrespect the environment it will bite. I just can't comprehend why a billionaire et al would go in such a death trap. They've got the dosh so if you want to go down go to the experts.
