Not won my heart but I like her and think she's a perfect partner for Charles. I never had any time for Diana, but that's all in the past. Good luck to them both. It's going to be so hard for Charles after The respect everybody has for the Queen, but I'm sure Camilla will help his through it. I respect the fact that she doesnt seek attention or court the press.
"Mistress to queen, took a while, but she got there eventually.
But who cares ?" Those she rode roughshod over to get to where she is - Harry for example. I truly believe she set her sights on getting the top job and woe betide anyone who stood in her way.
Harry. How did she ride roughshod over Harry? I think Harry has a persecution complex. He acts like a spoilt child. Camilla kept a very low profile for years. She never pushed her way in.

Charles marriage to Diana was basically an arranged marriage, and Charles was brought up in a Royal era where he really had no say. The marriage was never going to work. I am so glad to see King and Queen who love each other.

By her office releasing stories to the press.
Are they to be believed? Do we ever believe the media?
^^ thats just according to Harry and I wouldnt believe a word he says
Me neither
no. But I expect she'll live long and prosper anyway.
I'd believe Camilla over Harry any day.
So would I, Ladyb. It helps that, very quietly, all these 'releases' have been proved not to have been made by Camilla and 1 member of staff left.
I think she's a thoroughly decent woman, trapped in circumstances, and worth a hundred of Diana, who was sly and pretty thick (according to my ex-headteacher, a very experienced teacher, who taught her and who spoke to me about her).
She and Charles had nothing in common and the whole thing was a foreseeable tragedy, to be laid firmly at the door of the Queen and Prince Philip.
Plus the Queen Mother who was the main one insisting on the marriage.
Agreed.
Jourdain. I worked at a school which had strong links with Sandringham. Actually the school my son attended. The Head often associated with the royals on a social level. She was less than impressed with Diznna - and as for loving children she just didn't!! She played to the press and apparently was a very conniving and as you say, not very bright.

I never understood the adoration she got.
Neither could I, MissT. She played 'doe-eyes' very well, though, and people seem to be more and more soppy and sentimental.
No thanks.
The permanent smile on Charles' face tells me everything I need to know about his wife of many years. Personally I thought Diana was gorgeous, stylish and a complete crackpot. Camilla is sensible, very able to mix at high level, stylish for her age and clearly respectful of the Monarchy. She is the King's wife, ergo The Queen. Diana is dead and buried - just let it go.
The English, in particular, do seem to have had a thing in the recent past for ditzy blondes.
She is and always has been a substitute mother for Charles. He was left for very long periods by his parents, he’s quite an odd fellow. She’s waited a long time to get we’re she wants to be.
she's inoffensive and seems to be human (until she opens her mouth). That's good enough.
I like her. Charles and Diana should never have martied, it was almost an arranged marriage although they seemed happy at first.
