not my favourite artist but i like him and admire his work...

there is nothing of valentine's day to "spoil"... even for those who have partners it isn't a very meaningful holiday!!!
Thank you, Roobaba and glad it's going back. :-)

The freezer movement has garnered a lot of publicity. :-)
'there is nothing of valentine's day to "spoil" '

Awww, Untitled, come to uncle Zacs for a hug (((( * ))))
Saints Crispin and Crispinian's day will be next, them being the patron saints of cobblers.
It is this sort of thing that gives the erroeous impression that graffiti is acceptable. Had councils and private individuals removed graffiti promptly when this excess vandalism was becoming commonplace then there would be less shabbiness in various resudential areas and instead more decent works of art sold on canvases; as it should be.
^^^^Oh boy do I disagree. Yes we should have art in museums and other enclosed spaces. But it really should be available for everyone. I love the surprise of seeing street art...by talented people, not scribbles on walls...art that brightens up what can be a very drab landscape. It may not all appeal to me, but it makes streets and cities come alive.
what's the name of the ABer who lived in Herne Bay, so his neck of the woods, the one with his wife and girlfriends and girlfriends living 'en commune' - this would have been right up his back alley.

Allowing for any safety issues with the freezer, it does sound like if the local council are being petty-minded but, then, they have held out an olive branch to the wall owner to hang on to the concept, the squillions that it may be worth and stopping Margate sliding off into the 'Channel or 'La Manche' of Anonimity.
Forgot to add...people can't always afford art in canvas. Even copies.

It is not a 'sort of thing', it's a unique piece of art that sends out a message, not some scrawl of a stupid name.
That would be Baldric, DTC.
I visited this in London a year ago...good fun and a vast range of talent. Some people would have heart failure at the sight of it.
Most of what I saw would be painted over by now.

It might not be a tag scrawled on a wall but it's still graffiti. Whether it's art is in the eye of the beholder but that's art for you.
So, some ABers are fine with a council re-dumping rubbish because a cartoonist graffitied a wall there.

Marvellous.
Poppycock, OG. During Covid we had folk all over Ireland painting on bare walls. It's grown and it just bliss. Many talented artists showing their work to those who wouldn't otherwise see them.
It brings tourists to see and photograph them. We chat and get to know so many people we wouldn't otherwise do.
What in the name of god is wrong with covering a dull, boring wall with a bit of fun or something to get folk talking.
Hang on, I thought it wasn’t fun?
ZACS, you missed off the "or something to get folk talking." bit.
"overlooked" rather than, "missed off".
Indeed I may well have.
Zacs. Read again, stop and think. Some are fun. Some get folk talking. This one should.
