. . . . about the Opposition because there's nothing positive they can say about their own party.

Project Fear exemplified.

It's what politicians do. Not just the Tories.
it's what ABers do too. Deflect! Deflect!
I don't think it's sad, I think it's quite encouraging. Reminds me a bit of AB, where Corbyn, Blair et al are still regularly criticised. Trouble is, there's no good news about the tories at the moment, what with Covid and Ukraine and errr...
Perhaps Corbyn (Jeremy) created the coronavirus and put up Putin to have a crack at the right-wing nutters in Ukraine.
Are you for real? I have not heard Labour say or do anything else but that ever since they lost power.
Prudie, Labour are the opposition and so their function is to oppose what they oppose - they can't get on with actually running the country, making laws etc.
This is part of the problem, slime balls of both parties all fighting for pole position. Neither party seems to pay attention to the real problems of this country, or look for ways of great improvement.
Yes,jno.Nelson Mandela, for example.Or at least the release of Mandela from prison. You said six months ago that ABers were up in arms about Nelson Mandelas release from prison.Mandelas release from prison was in 1990.Answerbank wasnt founded till 2001.So how the hell was ABers up in arms at the time of Mandelas release?
I know that's part of their function but it shouldn't be all of it. They have not proposed anything at all, they devote themselves to knocking the Cons. Gawd help us if they suddenly got in, they haven't got the faintest of what to change and how.
Prudie, I hope you'll be surprised. You might not like their proposals, but a surprise would be a nice change. :-)
I can't ever remember an opposition party spending all their time trying to dig the dirt on the government like this lot do. Maybe it did go on previously but it certainly wasn't so obvious. If they concentrated on making plans and giving people their proposals for the future they might get more support.
lankeela, can you really not remember a time when the tories were in opposition and did the usual howling, jeering and booing in parliament? I don't remember a time when oppositions were calm reasonable, polite and respectful. I think that the sins of one's opponents are always more evident and reprehensible than those of one's own side.
That's not what I said. It is the constant dirt digging and mud slinging from not only the opposition but the newspapers and other media outlets. As they say, if you throw enough *** some of it will stick.
I think he’s probably right.
Where is the scaremongering?
