Don't think so, never heard of it in cats and I know plenty of people with dogs and cats. It is however highly contagious, particularly when they are actually coughing and can be carried in the air, so please keep your dog away from other dogs and anywhere where other dogs go (i.e. your local park). Also try not to have any contact with other dogs, i.e. friends or neighbours dogs (either you or your dog).

In most dogs it is not a problem if they are given anti-biotics, but very young and very old dogs are at risk if they contract it.

thanx

I have just checked on this site, and it seems they can get it, if kept in groups in close proximity.
