The government is seeking to recover the money paid for the defective PPE plus the costs of storage and disposal. Medpro claims the PPE was supplied as specified by the contract, but the legal complaint (filed by the Department of Health and Social Care) alleges that Medpro provided false accreditation, claiming compliance with the PPE Directive for the gowns.

If true, it should be easy to prove; besides being CE marked, each gown is required to bear the assigned Notified Body Number of the organisation that performed the accreditation. The Department of Health and Social Care claims the gowns had no such number marking, and further that the claimed (by Medpro) accreditation body has denied any involvement.

The government’s lawsuit is seeking £133 million, but what with Mone and her husband taking £65 million out of the company, even if they get a verdict in their favour there may be insufficient company assets to settle the debt – leaving the taxpayer to pick up the tab.

If the goverment wins and is awarded £133 million its up to the company to find that from its own resources and if they want to claim from Mone thats there problem
No-one lese got anything to add, LOL?
They're all exhausted from shouting elsewhere.
(In a David Attenborough voice)

And here, we see, one of the rare, surviving Hymie threads. A fascinating spectacle. Free from Moderation and censorship. It lives it’s life, here, in the wilds Of Answerbankopia, and will…..hopefully…..flourish.
I was going to suggest it be closed due to lack of interest....

It’ll warm TTT’s heart to see that no-one is interested in allegations of criminal activity by Tory Peers.
But it has cost the tax payer £10 million so far in legal fees to get this far , and you can bet all the legal beagles are members of the CON Crony Club .
By the time your thread was re-opened, Hymie most were in bed.

What's the odds the Govt never see any of this money again.

We probably won’t get any money back.
But can we get the gong back and award it to someone more deserving and who may actually turn up and do some work ?
Gulliver, you should be careful. Much of what you say is potentially libellous.

Gulliver, I'm haven't removed your posts but I'm removing your latest. Stop being rude.
naomi24,
Mone is being perused by the Government for the return of £133Million.
They believe a fraud has taken place, and that we were conned.
Though the case has not been concluded and guilt proven and money returned, I think Gulliver is entitled to say what he said without it being libellous. It is his opinion based on the Government’s interest in her. Hardly worth a double zapping.

So the over zealous and politically sensitive moderators are working in tandem, good cop/bad cop routine.

Thanks for the warning, I will refrain from wasting time posting anymore today.
Gromit, I didn't zap gulliver's posts - and when I told him to be careful of posting potentially libellous content I wasn't referring to what he said about Lady Mone.

In one of Gulliver’s removed posts, he wondered how much a named Tory politician ‘trousered’ from this scandal.

To my mind there is nothing libellous about wondering how much the crooked Tories and their friends have profited from the VIP PPE scandal, it’s pretty much an established fact; with the landlord of one Tory minister’s local pub being awarded a multi-million pound PPE contract, despite never before having been involved in such an endeavour.
