Not really.
The anti semitism she saw and objected to was criticism of the country of Israel, not Jewish people.
A pro Palestinian group put up posters calling the country racist because of its treatment of the Palestinian people. In Riley’s view, any condemnation of Israel is anti semitic.
She mainly mounted a campaign against the Labour Party, which might explain why the Tories have given her a gong.

Gromit, that is my thoughts, too, and it is my opinion that to call somebody a nazi is hghly and deliberately offensive
I was watching her on Countdown and managed to get aroused, yeah, I know its only seven letters but I did beat one of the contestants.
A-H will be pleased!
Other half has an MBE...fully deserved.
Question Author
How many people has she sued? Is it two or three?
No more or less deserved than giving four female footballers gongs for winning the euros...at least i recognise her know who she is by name.....
I have no agenda here - I'm not Jewish and I think a lot of what Israel has done over the last 20 years has been reprehensible (as opposed to the first 30 years or so of its existence when I cheered as it fought off endless attacks from neighbouring Arab states who posed an existential threat to the country).

But ... as a former member of the Labour Party, I just wish that it had spent even 1% of the time, money and vitriol it expended on libelling Ms Riley on, instead, rooting out the antisemites and holocaust deniers that so disfigured its reputation.

Her MBE was mainly for 'Improving knowledge of the Holocaust' - given the traction that Holocaust deniers and belittlers seem to get from some of the wackos on social media, that seems a valuable job and justly recognised.

What Dave said though for me it wouldn't be an honour for obvious reasons.
Recognition for what she has done would be grand though.

Bright lady.
At least it's for something that isn't the job she's paid to do.
I knew Gromit would think it wasn't deserved.
Me, I think the honours list is nonsense because any silly *** can get on it.
I tend to base my view of Ms Riley on her TV work and the endless pleasure it gives me playing on a loop.
The honours system is political.
Help the PM or Government by either joining their cause or donating wheelbarrows full of money, and you get a milk bottle top as appreciation.

I have searched and found very little evidence that she has done much against anti semitism other than get in a few Twitter spats and libel actions.
We will never hear the end of it now on Countdown

It will be the even more - Colin & Rachel show
Why not just give credit where credit is due, she's bright, entertaining,
speaks well and seems a very nice person.
I have wondered if she and Pash discuss global politics at the breakfast table.
Gromit at 6.23 couldn’t be more wrong if he tried.

Riley was fighting the anti-Jew and Jew-hate in the Labour Party (I refuse to use anti semitism as there’s always be somebody who will nasally point out that Arabs are semites).

Corbyn is a Jew-hater, as many people on the left are, and it is this that she was fighting.

Gromit’s lies do him no favours.
No but not many do.
Awards seem ten a penny now.
especially with the introduction of the OBN, first recipients to be Titchmarsh and Brandeth - the 'Order of the Brown Nose'.
