I tried beer once and it was awful. But this might be good news.

I've just brewed 40 pints of Nog.

Certainly good for me :-)
Of course it's good for you. Guinness has been telling you that for years !
Good enough for me, I'm off down the battle cruiser.

Nog - is that beer?
Unfortunately it seems they are suggesting the bodyless lacklustre beers are the ones to drink, well some of us want pleasure from our ale, so will probably give that a miss.
Yes, it was a Woodfordes Nog Beer Kit.

I have a grainfather conical fermenter and a couple of Corny's and industrial CO2 bottle. Doesnt taste like homebrew at all.
Why do you need CO2, youngmaf? Do you serve your Nog under pressure?

I was thinking of investing in a Sodastream to 'brew' my Pepsi Max. That is my poison of choice.
NJ yes, but for beer very little.

Instead of adding second fermentation sugar to the corny as you do with bottles you pressure up to about 20 for two weeks. This is just enough to give it a bit of life, then reduce it to less than 10 to pump it out. The CO2 also keeps the oxygen out which is where homebrews often fail and you get that 'homebrew' smell.

I am sure you could do it with non, but this is a relatively easy way to make, keep and dispense it. Its less 'fizzy' than bottles. Equipment is not particularly cheap though as you need pressure gauges, cornys, fermenter, taps (£30 ea) etc. I have brewed for some 40 years so its more of a hobby than cost saving though. Got a growler to take over to my brothers for beer night.

Got some St Peters and a cider kit to make next.
Wolf, you had me with the question title.

You then completely lost me with the first line of the question.

I was trying to be the bringer of good news for the beer drinkers among us. I, personally, think that it is vile stuff. I love Pepsi Max, 7up light and River Tay tap water.
Scientists from Italy say drinking larger can help the brain flush out harmful toxins

I suppose they just mean drinking lager. You can't expect Italian scientists to spell English proper.
Wow. The cost of items at the grainfather website suggests one must be drinking a LOT of home made beer to justify the investment. Perhaps supplying the street ?
Pepsi Max? Vile stuff.

Hopkirk - funny, my renal consultant said the same. But I have halved my intake and enjoy my 500ml each day. :-)
If you like fizzy drinks there's only one good one. Champagne.
Or it could just be a scheme to sell more beer.
It is reassuring to know that we will be fully compos mentis when we die of cirrhosis of the liver from this healthy product.
