We returned a Tory MP for the first time in over 100 years at the last election. A certain Anthony Higginbotham who was for Mordaunt, then Truss in the last leadership race. Despite publicly (in the local rag) admitting that he could no longer support Johnson as leader and calling for the PM to go, just a few months back, nailed his colours to Johnson's so-called leadership ambitions on Saturday morning. Can't wait to read his next piece :-(
Johnson won’t be back as a minister, the most narcissistic PM of all time will not play second fiddle to anyone and any new PM giving him a job endorses his behaviour.
They’d look as silly as him when the PSC findings drop, he’s gone forever, he always was after 6th July.
considering the knife wounds still in Theresa May's back, any PM would have to think long and hard before offering Boris a government job.
He will not want, nor be offered a govt job.

He'll be off on the lucrative speaking tour, which tbf I bet he is good at. I'd probably book him myself if I could afford it.
Thank goodness for that. I'm not a fan of Rishi either and certainly Penny Moribund. Is there no ne in the Conservative party who wants what is best for this country and not what is best for themselves and cronies? I am in despair.
I wonder if Nadine Dorries and Rachel Johnson would have been clamouring for a General Election had Boris Johnson won, with or without a vote by party members?

There is, the only one who came out of the last leadership contest with his integrity 100% intact.
Tom Tugendhat.
But as I maintain, the Tories keep the decent ones on the backbenches.
Not the sycophants, flunkies and toads who’ll generally do anything for a government job or cabinet post.
Charles Walker is a case in point, 17 years a Tory MP, never been a minister, junior or otherwise but must have been doing something good for his constituents?

And now, we’ll have the richest man in Parliament with a green card and a spouse with dodgy non-dom credentials(until it all came out) getting ready to deliver Austerity Mk 2 on the public as we face a horrendous winter, exacerbated by an unnecessary mini-budget that only ramped-up the misery.
But someone will say: Labour will only be worse, yet can never explain why.
Remember that despair when the GE happens.
I think we have to ask ourselves why sunak didn’t get the job ( hopefully) the first time around. .?
He is obviously a decent politician with experience, and it would appear no skeletons in cupboards.
Every little bit of sleeze just falls right into Nicola's lap.

'Mon, dol!
Two years and they're gone though fatticus. I'll even take that bet with ttt when he eventually emerges.
What you talking about Jim ?
Move to England, then...
Jim, who are you actually talking to ?

Because generally people don't like back-stabbers. This time, however, with Boris gone, he's the one perceived to be the most likely to bring stability. I don't know what you were expecting, anneasquith, but I do hope my answer doesn't disappoint you.
The Tory party are unelectable.
Its members don’t know what they want, they are confused and lost.
The next 20 months are going to be very eventful in all the wrong ways.
Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Hasta la Vista, Baby.
Indeed, Spungle, reports of his virility are the stuff of legend.
Haha, fair play Dougie.
"For the sake of the party" says Penny Mordaunt, "it's important for the members to have their say"

Wow. No wonder the Conservative Party is heading for the rocks.
"For the sake of the country" says everyone else "it's important for the electorate to have their say"

I mean, I understand she would like to be PM, but at least pretend that you are doing it because it's for the good of the country. It's even ok to admit you would actually like to be PM, as long as you don't over do it :-)
