//No I'm into getting a PM that might actually want to deliver what the public demand. The runners in this race leave me with no confidence they have any intention to do so; although maybe the woke one might possibly.//

Starmer’s your man then! Wise move.
You do know that Sunak and Mordaunt were both Leave Campaigners? And you do also know that we left the EU? There's more to the UK than just one decision.

Whatever. You wallow in your misery if you see fit.
He knew he wouldn’t win, only good decision he’s made . Bye .
I've followed the political scene for some years, though I wouldn't claim to be the only one who does so here. I tell you then, again: it's frankly pathetic to argue that the UK is "screwed for the foreseeable future" just because Johnson won't stand for PM.
His alter ego and poundshop lookalike Michael Fabricant tweeted earlier today that he’d reached 100, with an animated emoji of applauding fans.
Kremlin-style fakery at its finest.
Penny Mordaunt to her credit was brave enough to announce her candidacy when she still had it all to do
It's going to Sunak by Tuesday morning as I maintained yesterday when Boris was hypothetically in the running.
Still, there does seem to be a strong "Anyone but Sunak" camp, so they may switch to Penny. We'll see what Mordaunt does, although I suspect that the Tory members will want a say at least.
his (alleged) attempt to get Mordaunt to stand aside clearly signalled he hadn't got enough support. She called his bluff, and it was all over.
He actually said this;

“ And though I have reached out to both Rishi (Sunak) and Penny (Mordaunt) - because I hoped that we could come together in the national interest - we have sadly not been able to work out a way doing this.”

It’s worth considering the implications of those words
Very, very sorry to hear that. Yuck Sunack for PM !!

Conservative Party membership will drop dramatically this week, there’ll be some cribbage boards getting snapped in anger! Lol
Came back from hols for a viewing, saw the state of it and decided he doesn't want to lead the mess.
Wonder if Boris will now spend more time in his new constituency . Think its called the Domincan Republic.
If true, he's done the right thing for the country and his party. I'm surprised.

yeah well I dont believe it - he doesnt do the rt thing, he doesnt give a toss about his country unless it be Armenia
the party is a thing to used and exploited....
what else
I am surprised - so am I

it will turn out to be untrue you know

Fwobble Fwobble of his fair locks - cincinatus was constrained to return even tho the popular faction opposed it, and so he nobly sacrificed himself and....
and his wife Cleopatra
( Boris he didnt marry Kleo but carry on ! haw haw did you notice the pun?)
his wife the noble cleopatra majestically had an asp suck at her Bazzooom
ample bazoom, and expired minutes afterward . ( Boris sweats at the mention of ladies you know places)
( oh my god what the funicular gasp hundreds of shocked ABers This is worse than raw sex on camera)

and so the scene is set.....
“ Given today's news, it's clear that we should turn to @RishiSunak to become our next Prime Minister. Rishi is immensely talented, will command a strong majority in the parliamentary Conservative Party, and will have my full support & loyalty.”

So now says Nadim Zahawi.
Now
“ If true this country is screwed for the foreseeable future.”

Why do people think this?
It's an astonishing statement, frankly. Takes pot shots at his two potential rivals, claims that he'd win if he could be bothered to enter, and that all they had to do was work with him, the rats.

Remarkable arrogance, and self-interest, to the end. Just no class.
Gulliver: His new constituency should be the inside of a gaol.
i bet those mps who used the “boris or bust” hashtag are feeling a bit silly…
