Isn't it odd that Sunak and Johnson have so far said nothing?

No rebuttal to the facts she’s stated then Naomi?
Or do you just ‘disagree’? PMSL

'I can't have a liar in parliament': Public share their thoughts on leadership contest
After Boris Johnson returned to the UK amid speculation that he could run for Tory leader again, members of the public have been sharing their thoughts on the Tory leadership race.
One person from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, said while they would like to see a general election, they would prefer Rishi Sunak rather than Boris Johnson to be the country's next prime minister.
She said: "I'm not too sure why I want Rishi but I know why I don't want Boris. He's been in before and I didn't like what he did.
"He's not a competent leader and he shouldn't be allowed to come into power again."
Meanwhile another person, from Durham, added: "I can't have a liar in parliament. I just can't have it."

//'It has to be Rishi Sunak,' Tory MP says
There are many good reasons why Boris Johnson would be the "wrong choice" for the Conservative Party's leadership race, Tory MP Greg Hands has said.
Mr Hands said he was among a number of MPs who urged the former prime minister to resign earlier this year and he had "no reason to have any more confidence today that he could put together an effective government".
"People forget quickly. I don't. I was with Boris late on the evening of 6 July. He offered me Northern Ireland secretary (a position not to be thrown around lightly), if I could just show the world he could indeed form a government," he said.
"I think he would have offered me almost anything. I refused. Indeed, as we sat there, more resignations of junior ministers, whips and PPSs were coming in.
"I told him he had to resign, as he couldn't form a government. Doubtless others said the same. The next morning, he duly did resign.
"I have no reason to have any more confidence today that he could put together an effective government.
"Some of my colleagues think he could win a 2024 general election. But if you can't form a workable, effective and stable government, you'll never get to 2023, let alone 2024.
"There are many other good reasons why Boris would be the wrong choice. But being elected the leader of the largest party in parliament, but without being able to form a stable government, would be a new set of circumstances which could lead to constitutional crisis and early general election in chaotic circumstances.//

What a pathetic creature and sad toady picture painted of Johnson.
Good to see the odd Tory has some integrity, decency and honesty.
Fatticusinch, Some I agree with, some I don’t, but I don’t care much for twisted political people bashing and since that is what is, I don’t intend to waste effort dissecting it.
Looking forward to Boris winning, unifying the Party and getting the country behind him as he delivers for the British people! PMSL at the Borstriches.
I think you’re going to be disappointed, fatticusinch.

REALLY PMSL at that - the place would be almost empty!
No, not odd. Why shouldn't they play their cards close to their chest.
Dave at 17.08 for best answer. :o)
//Not really, they are clearly taking a lot of soundings before they put their size 10s in.//

Rich Rish is only a size 5. But he has a big head.
TOGO, I suggested a minimum of 120 nominations on another thread and you said, "If it had been 120 "votes", as has been idiotically suggested, then only Boris could have been elected because no one else in the ranks could garner any such support."

The spreadsheet on the Guido Fawkes website shows Sunak has 125 supporters and Johnson has seventy-two.

It's hard to argue against such devastating logic, naomi.
That’ll be why you never offer a cogent argument then, jdavis.
Any of the three main contenders would be a hugely better option than the current offering from Captain Hindsight and his bandwagon of wokerati.
It would almost be a pleasure to see them win, Hazi. Just to gaze upon the dismayed, gormless faces of the AB Brains Trust when reality dawns.
Almost.
I feel blessed that I had an afternoon stripping wallpaper and missed all this wagon circling drivel.

I have to register my surprise at the input of Jim360 earlier though.
The “online members vote” sounds well dodgy to me.

I actually find it hard to believe that that is ultimately tte process which will decide the next PM
I suspect Sunak will be installed before that
One reporter mentioned the doomsday scenario earlier i.e. if Sunak and Johnson end up in a head to head with the Ovaltine Octogenarians they couldn’t see Sunak winning.

How strange?!
He wouldn't be used to manual work like us, Douglas. Probably did his best.
20.15 Stripping wallpaper ? Boris is not in there yet.
