The former culture secretary last week said Ms Truss should "take to the country" if she wanted to undo Boris Johnson-era policy.
But today, Ms Dorries has called for unity.
She tweeted: "MPs circulating a smorgasbord of names re who should replace Truss as PM are not taking into account the fact that they cannot foist upon the British public another prime minister that the public have not voted for.
"A totally untenable position. #backliz"//
This is a government and party in total free fall.
It really is time for a GE, this haphazard and ad-hoc, utterly dire attempt at government is like being at the circus, but one where the clowns are the star act, the escapologist is the villain and the crowd are baying for blood.
What an utter shambles and unmitigated disaster.

Iam glad I hold with the idea of changing your mind if you and don’t hold with the ideas you did before .How often have you heard it said “A but you said “ .it don’t matter what you said if you think a change of mind is for the better.That’s what’s wrong people they adhere to things they said rather than admit they were wrong in the first place .I’d better hit the answer now button before I change my mind.
Problem is weecalf, when you’re in government and don’t clearly think through your fiscal planning and subsequently cause untold misery to millions and burden them financially even more(bar the odd Tory donor/backer) it becomes a bit of a problem for the world.
At least try and grasp the perspective if nothing else?
Do you really think Kwarteng ‘gets it’ as he so flippantly put it at the conference? I doubt hr did, especially not as his former boss benefitted by several millions after betting against the Pound following the mini budget.
