Extraordinary she didn't see fit to acknowledge Boris Johson and give him one sentence of respect.

untitled, //people can get very senior jobs for reasons other than their abilities//

True - and that happens in every walk of life - but in a job where they have to 'perform' such as the one DD mentioned, they really would have to 'perform'. Restricting their activities to genially hobnobbing at corporate events just wouldn't cut it.
"It always" tends to precede a falsehood, especially among the deluded.
Who said 'it always' and what does 'it always' do?
// Johnson, Trump and Musk were branded idiots on this site //

This is only the Left venting their spleens!

//"You simply cannot rise to that type of position by not being very bright. You just can't. "

i completely disagree.... people can get very senior jobs for reasons other than their abilities... e.g. being a sycophant, having a good personal relationship with a superior, personal dislike of other candidates on the part of a superior, taking credit for other's work... people do not always make hiring decisions for sensible reasons unfortunately... the world is not a meritocracy and that's just as true in business as it is anywhere else//

Absolutely. The old adage has never been more true, especially amongst the present government:
It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.

You only have to concur with someone in a board room or show a fawning, sycophantic fascination with a party leader in power to be appointed higher than your station.
Nadine Dorries is living proof of that.

So Truss is highly educated? Certainly lacking in morals though!
With some people it’s literally fate and definitely not ability that gets them to the position they’re in.
Look at the facts:
Definitely not the top choice to be the leader of her party by her colleagues, however, because of her prolonged period in cabinet was deemed by some to be somehow competent.
By pure chance she ends up in a 2 horse race, the other person being an ethnic minority.
The final vote is then taken out of the hands of the parliamentary party and handed over to several thousand predominantly white and roughly 50+ Party members.
The rest is history……

THAT is why she is already so unpopular with her colleagues and the party is so fractured.

Several thousand? 160-170,000 (mainly older white males).

Is that any more representative than Labour's college of MPs, members and trades unions?
what morals does she lack i want to know. ?
// i completely disagree... //

OK!

Name one British person who became Prime Minister who meets your criteria.

Nobody is ever going to completely fulfill every voters criteria, are they?
Probably why I’ve never voted. Some certainly have more merit than others though or grow into the role as they go on.
Love or loathe her, Thatcher had certain characteristics that made her very good but she lost it towards the end.
Blair had some qualities too.
Cameron was bad, not brilliant but did ok.
Look at those 3 in comparison to the last 3 years? Utter drivel, a lying narcissist surrounded by sycophants, mired in sleaze, incompetence and skullduggery.
Thatcher wouldn’t have let him within 100 miles of a cabinet.
Now we have a rabbit in the headlights, with no clear or credible plan, renowned for changing her mind on a whim at any given opportunity.

As for those arguing about intelligence being a major factor, if that was so then Stephen Hawking would’ve been the best PM, wouldn’t he?
*Cameron wasn’t bad
DD 06:09, yes bang on.
08:50, might have guessed it would be something to do with sex. You have an unhealthy obsession with other people's private lives, fatticusinch. I wonder why?
….and you must admit that she makes the rods for her own back?

You’d hope that the Foreign Sec would have a decent grasp of geography?

Oh dear. Not once have I ever even used the word sex, but you describe other peoples(well, just Tory MP’s actually) infidelity as their ‘sex lives’. You seem obsessed that Tories having extra-marital affairs might show them in a bad light.
Emmie asked a question, I answered it.
Maybe you could try the same?
Will you condemn Boris Johnson for lying about having knowledge of a predatory sex pest, Chris Pincher? Yes or no?
Zebu-Sanctuary asked a question of me earlier.
I’ve answered it.
Why do the resident Johnson/Truss fans on here go MIA whenever I ask a question? It’s already been highlighted by others on the previous page.
So will you answer the question about Johnson?
Why do you shut yourself off from the real world?
Any idea why News and media outlets might report on these sorts of events?

I’d hazard a guess it’s so that electorate, public and colleagues alike can maybe get an idea of someone’s moral compass, once they’re made aware and are availed of the facts?
Doesn’t have to be about infidelity, could be about racism, homophobia, abortion stance, attitudes towards sexual assault or the levels one might stoop to in order to avoid scrutiny but especially so when one elects to serve the public in the political sphere, no?
She's not the only one who needs a lesson in geography. The Baltic and the Black Sea are rather more than 700 miles apart. Best you tell your news source …now that you know.
//Will you condemn Boris Johnson for lying about having knowledge of a predatory sex pest, Chris Pincher? Yes or no? //

Good grief! Sex again! What is wrong with you? I answered that yesterday. No. He said he had been informed. Now change the record for heaven's sake. Your constant repetitive drivel is driving serious posters here daft - and heading for the hills! You'll be the only one left here soon - well maybe you and your couple of equally boring cronies.
naomi, just stop feeding the Troll, many of us have.
Probably wise, TTT. He'll kill this section.
