What is wrong with this woman? Her son had the best free NHS care possible, care which she says wasn’t good enough, poor little Archie has now gone, and now she wants a public enquiry. Of course I feel sorry for her but she has really gone too far. She should be grateful she didn’t have to pay for something that was self inflicted. Rant over.

//I am sure the hospital did all it could to help.//

I've no doubt of that - but the point is to her there were signs of life. That's why she was determined to fight for him. To her he wasn't dead. Terrible situation, just awful.
A truly unenviable experience for all concerned.
signs of life as deemed by Hospital may not be understood by the worried parents who can interpret reflex actions as such when in fact they are just that..Brain Stem tests are in place for a good reason... but I can fully understand that clutching at anything that seems positive is what all parents would do
My daughter has read the report and, as murray and calmck have said, there is a lot more to this than the press has reported. I was sickened by some of the photos that were released, thoroughly unwarranted, in my humble opinion. My daughter told me hospitals are considering the use of mobile phones by patients' relatives. I'm not sure how that would work. I'm waiting for the book.
Sadly the more Archie’s mum looks for blame for the tragic death of her son ,the more the opposite effect it’s having, all the medical staff that helped care for Archie and all the judges who had to make the decisions about him, these people are human too,I hope his parents and family find peace very soon

For what purpose?
//For what purpose?//

To consider if using them could infringe upon the privacy of patients I would assume?
@gness... Since Archie's brainstem was declared dead and the NHS maintaining his existence on a life support machine for over 4 months, I'd say that level of care was more than adequate given the circumstances. Why would you say otherwise?
I'm curious as to where minty read that this was not a tiktok challenge, but instead suicide. Sadly, the thought had crossed my mind, and I suspect I may not have been the only one.

I'm sure that as his mum, she's had...and will continue to have...endless thoughts of what could have been done differently, did she do something wrong, what minor choice could have made a difference? She desperately needs a reason, an explanation...but there isn't any now. Now, she is faced with the future...and I'm sure she's not wanting to face that. She's going to crash hard, and I sincerely hope that every means possible is available to help her and her family over the coming months.
this isnt news
the only thing about Archie which would be news would be that three ddays later, he.....
most of them do not create a media three-ring circus out of the tragic event.

is really the only lesson - all this was led by the famlly - the hospital rather obvioously in not allowed by old old rules to make a spectacle

another lesson - dont tie a ligature around your neck if you are the only person in the room....
Maybe they should check what clips Archie was watching prior to his accident and sue those people and the platform they were on for failing to protect vulnerable young people. Just curious who paid for all the legal support the family got, I seriously doubt it was pro bono.
It’s just turned into a right circus! Medical consultants/docs/experts & the Courts - have all agreed & concurred that there is no chance of recovery. The negativity the mother has aimed at the hospital and courts is just not good. Yes, she’s grieving, but the public slating of the hospital, the daily press conferences, it just leaves a sour feeling about this whole thing, the focus isn’t on Archie, it’s on his mum, who is neither a medical nor legal expert. Why isn't she focused on the "pointless social media blackout challenge" or that was not the real reason he hung himself? Easy to sit here and say, I know, but the focus needs to be on a dignified death and then on the stupid and ridiculous online challenge that was the cause of this tragedy... Not attacks on NHS!

Completely agree, Tennis Nuts. This will continue. There will be claims for compensation and money made through media interest. As a mother myself I know how to would feel and would never actually act as she did. It became all about her.
I'm afraid I lost all compassion and interest when she prattled on that the State or the NHS (can't remember which) was about to "murder" her son.

You can make some allowances for the terrible and tragic situation her son was in - but only so much.
The problem is, NJ, the living often suffer far more mental torment than the dead and dying .... and for far longer. It's just a dreadful situation altogether altogether.
I found a site by accident that describes her as a less than saintly character with a dodgy history. I've not looked at it too closely...yet...so I'm taking it with a grain of salt.
Apparently the Christian Legal Centre is also questionable in some of their practices, and are a company, not a legal practice.
See my link up there Pasta^^

I found that too, Lottie. I also looked at the Christian Concern website.

It remains to be seen if she seeks compensation. I hope she doesn't.
