Why won't our Police look into this? It is not acceptable to bring these backward practices here and not expect repercussions. We do not allow our women to be beaten and they are equals with men. If these people dont like our way of like why dont they push off to somewhere who does - not that I think these practices are acceptable anywhere

I think there’s a big difference between DV and a murder in the name of religion or at least based in religion. Muslim religion teaches that women are chattels and beneath men making violence towards them less of a social taboo.

pixie we are going round in circles. If you want to exclude the term "honour killings" then fine but murders of daughters by their own families are carried out by muslim men, fact. You seem determined to ignore that. I thought you'd grasped the set theory above but you now seem to have regressed. What is your connection with the muslim world that means you fight tooth and nail to avoid the truth in this matter?
Why zacs? The causes and results are the same, so why is it different, better, worse, if religion gets the blame? Personally, I prefer adults to be responsible for their own thinking and behaviour, without being given excuses to use.

Find me one example, just one of a non muslim family killing their own daughter because she refused and arranged marriage or married someone without their consent.

In the Western world, we are so used to it, either nobody notices, or it's seen as "feminist" to think. How many women do you know, who have either changed their surnames, or named their children after their dad? Our "traditions" are hard to change too. We still tell women how to behave to keep themselves safe, as if they is their responsibility... sex pay gap? I am not even going to bother going further...
But, I don't see why a white woman being killed by her partner through jealousy is any more acceptable- and the causes are no different.
