Can you hear that noise? No, not the boos and jeers this time.
That is the sound of the death knell for the Prime Minister.
Looks like he will be put out of our misery very shortly.

All this before the select committee even begin their grilling over whether he lied to parliament. Far better he falls on his sword now.

From the 9 am news-
Vote of no confidence will take place this evening.,
It’s a vote of confidence, not a vote of no confidence.

//‘open, honest and a person of integrity’

If those are the qualifications you’re looking for in a PM, good luck.//

I agree. Problem is the PM is struggling to maintain a semblance of even one of the three traits mentioned.

How about (Lord) William Hague? Or does the PM have to be in the Commons?
Oh, ok, it’s just that with you specifically mentioning those three ‘attributes’ I thought that’s what you were looking for. So you’re not fussed if Boris’s replacement doesn’t have them?
Question Author
Just for Khandro,
This means that there are at least 54 of his own MP’s who are very dissatisfied at his performance and want rid of him.
No lefties were involved in the making of this decision.

The next one will undoubtedly have more of a measure of them than the PM has ever had, but then that’s not going to be too difficult is it?

//another broken record.//

Suspiciously conspicuous by his absence this morning? Maybe revising all those false prophecies claiming that he’ll never undergo such a vote?
Or crying into his plate of humble pie?
So where does your line for those qualities begin and end? Can they be a bit honest, a bit open or have just a bit of integrity?
If so, how does that work?
Fatti, if he survives the vote will you accept it gracefully and shut up?

It’s just dawned on me, ToraToraTora is probably down at the bookies, he’s fond of a bet!
Well, he’s always offering them.

Bozo's a bit damaged by having a vote at all, but if there are more than expected "no confidence" votes then he's won, but it will be a question of how long he can cling on, particularly if the by-election results are bad.
Before you get too excited Fatti, let's be clear; if sufficient Tory MPs 15% (54) send in a letter of no confidence, it doesn't me he's out, it simply means there will be an attempt at voting in a new leader which Boris will win hands down, - sorry about that.

Moot point Nom, even if he survives this it’ll only be for a few months.
Tory PM’s who survive such votes are notoriously given the coup de grace shortly after.
He’s finished.
Now we are getting the more important things done. Been playing the Rolling Stones this morning. Its all over now.:)))
Meanwhile; 'Boris Johnson has made his first direct public statement since news of the no confidence vote broke - on the topic of the long-range missiles the UK is supplying to Ukraine.

Several of his supporters have cited his support for Ukraine as a key reason to back the PM.

Johnson says on Twitter: "We cannot stand by while Russian long-range artillery flattens cities and kills innocent civilians.

"The UK will gift the Ukrainian Armed Forces multiple-launch rocket systems so they can effectively repel the continuing Russian onslaught."

While the PM hasn't directly commented on tonight's vote, earlier a Downing Street spokesman said it was "a chance to end months of speculation and allow the government to draw a line and move on".
//Moot point Nom//

No it isn't. You're chomping at the bit for him to be replaced so it's reasonable to assume that if that happens you'll be content. No?
Using Ukraine again trying to save his neck,it won't work.

The ones chomping ar the bit are the 54 or probably more who have no confidence in him.
Look a little closer to home rather than lashing out blindly at those looking in on the implosion.
Haha! No chance of you putting your money where your mouth is, fatti! Thought not.
