I must be a lot older than you, Sticky..... ;-). I remember her well. An interesting life lived well which wasn't easy to do in the 60s.
Her. The correct term is her.

And no, me neither, but it's not exactly a career that would resonate with me.
RIP April.

A legend.
She certainly caused a stir in the 60's.R I P
So why bother with a thread?
spathetic.
there are plenty of people ive never heard of in the news everyday, however, i dont make posts about them (mainly coz ive never heard of them therefore they dont interest me)
Always recommended to read your own link SB, can be very informative.

Yes, I've heard of her. Her life would have been a lot easier without the press, as usual.
Never heard of her
Or him
Or them,
Then why have you posted about them ???????
Never heard of her either. She perhaps wasnt high enough up the social scale to attract much attention such as the Duchess of Argyle scandal,or the Lord Montague scandal or the Profumo case.
im sure those in the trans community know of them well
Trailblazer and a true icon/legend.
Always very dignified despite the many brickbats aimed in her direction.
RIP, April.
I remember the news coverage although I was very young, and glad she lived to a good age, many of those who followed were less fortunate driven to acts of despair due to the attitudes of the time. She was a real role model for transgender people and worthy of recognition for the courage needed to live faithful to her true self

Lol
So why have you taken the time to post on a thread ?
Take note though gully :
That is what a link looks like
Give it a go one day when setting off on one of your inane Boris ramblings
We've come full circle when someone posts a thread on somebody they never heard of then criticises someone else who posts that they never heard of the person.
