About 80 miles from Chernobyl
Lots of kids as you know Bobbi came over from Belarus in the years after Chernobyl. Although the explosion occurred in Ukraine SSR, the wind was blowing in a northerly direction at the time so Belarus came off worse
Yes Britain answered their call to take a child or two to let them move from the horror, I remember it so well, our local John Lewis store opened its doors after time for the children to choose a pair of shoes and a toy for free
The charity work is still going on, Bobb.
A couple of years ago I played at a fund raiser for a local "Children of Cherbobyl" cause. Obviously the kids weren't born at the time, but many areas are still quite impoverished.
The organisers invite children from those areas to come over and stay with local families (it's just a village near me.)
They take them on outings/seaside/shows, that kind of thing.

I was told that these kids have so little at home that they turn up with a few possessions and toys in a carrier bag.
They have a great time though ;o)
That’s a lovely thing to do The Builder , Nadya is now married herself and Viktoryia always posts photos like she was a model, and she could be, she’s stunning
