its another early start and its lovely and quiet, except for the dawn chorus.
i hope you have a good day, and that the weather isn't as bad as yesterday. I have a doctors appointment later today so am hoping it doesn't rain as its a fair walk away. What has the weather been like where you are, do you have any plans for the day?
off to get some coffee, back in a mo.
its still quite humid, making it difficult to sleep. but have managed to get some in. Not as much as i would like straight through, but enough for now. My doctors appointment isn't till 4pm so will have to find stuff to do to while away the day. If it was sunny i would love to just chill around the local park, but fear it won't be. My mate and her family are on holiday in Wales, i hope that it isn't being spoilt by this awful weather.
I still feel full from our excellent food last night. All the courses and wine pairings were truly incredible and will stay in my memory for a long time.
The chair has done my back no favours though and I've had to take painkillers this morning alongside Ibuprofen gel.
its been pretty awful weather wise here in London and across some of the country, flash floods have caused untold damage to people's homes, cars wrecked and so on. Glad that you are having a better time
not too bad Lcg, have had some sleep, and will see how the day pans out. I have a technician, which is what Amazon call them, coming tomorrow to assemble my table, which makes it possible to have the hallway and living room in a good state again, as i can't abide living in a muddle.
legs, feet are very puffy, its why im seeing the doctor, i am hoping its nothing serious but does make getting the shoes on hard, and walking has become very difficult.
Absolutely, 1ozzy, but I wouldn't be without him for the world. It feels funny waking up without him but I'll take him down the park when he gets home.
I hate living in a cluttered environment too, Emmie, but sadly that's become a big feature of our lives. When the kitchen finally gets installed we will be able to say goodbye to a good many of the boxes piled all around.
Last night was an amazing experience and we even caught a close-up but brief glimpse of the famous man himself. He looked over and smiled.
We ate at Opheem, brainchild of Aktar Islam. We had a 10-course tasting menu and wine flight. There was this really unusual potato dish (their signature dish apparently) which blew us both away. The chocolate course at the end was paired with a port and the taste was out of this world. Sadly I forgot my reading glasses so I couldn't tell you the name of it but it was a "Quinta de something..." A new pairing only yesterday apparently.
Kitchen has now been pushed back to 06 September. If OH tries to push it back again I'm going to commit murder.
as i said, it must have been a wonderful evening, i haven't eaten out for a long while. couldn't because of covid of course but even so, its been too long.
We don't eat out all that often now. I'm going Greek tomorrow night with my friend and colleague and then we're going to a child friendly pub next Saturday with cousins in law just for a catch up but otherwise I don't suppose we'll be going anywhere in particular until something crops up.
i love Greek food, all the times i have spent in Greece, the food was always fresh, locally caught seafood, and different salads. I wish we had a decent Greek restaurant near by...
