I'm of the opinion that 75% of people who voted, whether it be to stop in, or out hadn't really got a clue of the finer details of what they were voting for, or fully understood the basics. ( I include myself by the way), apart from the obvious. Then you have no doubt a percentage that didn't even bother voting because their to busy holding their own lives together in...

he is still a remainer isn't he?
Yes again.
some people never learn,
Sound thinking, gulliver.

a) Brexit was about 2 things.
1, getting rid of the foreigners. It AIN'T happened, and it's not going to happen. Brexiteers, in their simplicity, saw hordes of brown and black people somehow disappearing from their streets. Forget it!
2, smacking the 'metropolitan elite' in the nose.
Fair enough, the London elite HAS ignored the North, the North West, the North East, and so on and so on - but only as they ignore the working-classes generally! It's not a personal thing against northerners, chums.

And the ignoring of the working-classes will continue!

Sort out your heads! It's not about Brexit, it's about the rotten class-based economic system we live in. Get that right, and we can ALL live a good life, whatever shade of pink (or black) we happen to be.

A
it was many of the working class who voted for Brexit, give us some credit.
its to stop this illegal bunking in, where we have no say on those who are purely eonomic migrants.
Allen //1, getting rid of the foreigners//
It was never about that, it was about our control of who we let into the UK.
Yeah, credit for getting it wrong!

Start thinking, stop reacting.
Allen 08:46, Cobras, you lefties keep going on about immigration etc that's BS, as posted earlier on this thread, these are the reasons most voted brexit:
1) Sovereignty
2) Freedom to trade with the world
3) Regain our fishing industry
4) Our own courts are supreme
5) we can set our own agenda without being bossed about by unelected foreign Bureaucrats.
6) .....and all the other things that you get when you run your own country.
allen:"it's about the rotten class-based economic system we live in. " - work harder try harder, we all have the same chance. I started on a council estate on benefits eating bread and dripping. Class? my April, just a 4 x 2 on your lefty should me old china.
Class? my April, just a 4 x 2 on your lefty should me old china.

Wot?

Wot?

allen, that you have a massive size chip on your shoulder.
should = shoulder
Some points to consider.

Sovereignty? Haven't we still got big ears and his mum in charge? What's changed?

What's stopping us trading with the world? Nothing that I can see...

Fishing is in dire straits mainly because WE've overfished the fishing grounds, and there isn't much fish left! Nothing to do with the EU.

Our courts are supreme, what are you on about? Yes, the EU can point out when we go wrong, but what are we? Gods?

Foreign bureaucrats do NOT boss us about. They (collectively, with us) sort out problems and impose solutions.

All the other things you get when you run your own country? Eh?

Rattling the bars, and the growling starts.
they are in name only surely
Allen//What's stopping us trading with the world? Nothing that I can see...//
Wrong again, all trading is controlled by the EU.
allen: "Sovereignty? Haven't we still got big ears and his mum in charge? What's changed?" - yes since 31/1/2020 before that it was the unelected despots in the EU

"What's stopping us trading with the world? Nothing that I can see..." - nothing Now!

"Fishing is in dire straits mainly because WE've overfished the fishing grounds, and there isn't much fish left! Nothing to do with the EU." - Rot, our waters have been plunderd by France and Spain.

"Our courts are supreme, what are you on about? Yes, the EU can point out when we go wrong, but what are we? Gods?" - again they are now, they could be over ruled up to 31/1/2020

"Foreign bureaucrats do NOT boss us about. They (collectively, with us) sort out problems and impose solutions." - Gawd help us, get your head out the sand me old china!
//Brexiteers, in their simplicity, saw hordes of brown and black people somehow disappearing from their streets.//

I hesitate to say that’s a rather ignorant statement but unless Allen can explain it sensibly, I think it probably is. Course, with Covid restrictions and all that, I haven’t been recently, but I’m pretty familiar with most of the countries that make up the EU and I’m at a loss to fathom which are indigenous homes to the black and brown people Allen refers to. Allen?
I'm glad to say that since ignoring most of gulliver's posts lately my sanity has come back. I find it is a waste of time trying to reason with him and his cronies as they hate the idea of answering a question to do with the thread they have put on and usually just come back with something sarcastic and nasty about anything they don't agree with instead of having a discussion on it. Gulliver, Brexit is done so just get on with your life and accept it, you are sounding just like Trump a very bad loser. Adios y disfruta la vida.
One can trade with the world whilst being an EU nation, but only on EU terms; no agreeing a separate trade agreement whether it would be beneficial to your nation or not.
